April 2012 Weddings

Booked Venues...what to do now?!?!

Hi Ladies...I am so excited to announce that we have booked our wedding and reception venue this week!  I'll be getting married on April 21, 2012.  I am so excited and want to get started with the planning but seem to not have anything definite to do.  I am looking for dresses and trying to pick wedding colors and flowers but those are slow moving processes.  What else should I work on now?  What are you all working on?  I want to use this momentum while I have it!

Re: Booked Venues...what to do now?!?!

  • Ive booked almost all my vendors already but right now im working on slowing pieceing together all the little decor items so you can shop around and get good prices. Im also working on the MANY DIY projects that im doing for the wedding.

  • Congrats date twin!  I would definitely look into booking a photographer next.

  • 4.21.12 is also my wedding date!! Yay, we've got date twinkies :) I've pretty much done everything except for the cake, decor, linens, STD's, and invitations. I would start with the photographer and DJ if I were you. It wouldn't hurt to get the catering company done as well.

  • I'm April 21, 2012 too!! I agree with the PP.  If you are planning in getting married at a church and haven't booked that yet, I would say that is important to secure the date with them too.  Besides that I would agree the photographer, DJ, and caterer (if not included with the venue) are the next things to book.

    Congratulations!
  • You should work on a DJ and Photographer next. Once I booked my venue, the DJ was my next step and in between that I made my own STD and they are already to go (but I am waiting a few more months to send them).
  • Same date! :) I've booked the church, reception, photographer, videographer, baker, and florist. Now we're working on decor and special items for the day. We've purchased our toasting glasses, cake cutting set, and working on the rest.  Since you have your venues work on the decor for both. Figure out colors and theme, and everthing else will start coming together.
