Since we get alot of posts on hair and what we can do to strengthen it I thought I'd share my latest discovery.
I've shared here many times that I have very thin, fine, damaged hair--as far as the damage, I have only myself to blame due to heat and processing.
I have worn clip-in extensions for years but honestly, I think they have damaged my hair some as well. Plus I'm just tired of wearing them so I have been trying to get my own hair in better shape.
I recently purchased a higher end blow dryer and flat iron -- not astronomically expensive, but in the $85 range for each (on sale at Amazon I paid $150 for both).
Maybe some of you know this already, but if you have any issues with damage (or even if you don't), I highly recommend investing in good quality styling tools. After one use today, I can already see a huge difference. Although my new BaByliss blow dryer did not get as hot as my Conair (which was about 15 years old), it dried my hair in half the time with less heat. My hair looked silkier when I was done and I spent half the time using my new flat iron as I usually do, and it glided across my hair, with little effort and no pulling.
I know when planning a wedding, the last thing you want to spend money on is a new hair dryer, but if you are on the fence like I was or wondering if it's worth it, I say yes. And although the wedding will come and go, you will want your hair to last forever so I say it's money well spent.
Of course, keeping heat styling and processing to a minimum is the very BEST thing you can do. But if you're going to use heat tools, invest in good ones.
