***Catering Question--RI/MASS***

Hi! We have just booked our reception for May 2013 at Easton's Beach Rotunda Ballroom in Newport, RI. I have started getting information from area catering companies, to include those recommended by the venue. I am having a bit of a hard time finding one with great food, great service all for under or around 10k, for 150 guests.
Does anyone have any suggestions, comments, reviews?
I thought I had chosen a caterer, then heard some not-so-great reviews. As someone who hasn't been to many catered functions before, I am at a loss as to who is good and who is just charging for the name.

I should note we are looking for a cocktail hour as well as a seated dinner, not buffet.
I welcome and appreciate any and all input you may have!!!
Thanks in advance.

  • B&M Catering in Pawtucket is awesome.  They did my RD last summer and 30th birthday party this summer.  They customize a menu for you,  work with your budget, and have amazing food.  The service is phenomenal.  I highly recommend them.

  • Hi Aly,

Too funny to see your post because I posted something very similar to this a few weeks ago!! :)

We too are getting married at Easton Beach Rotunda (August 2014) and are inviting 150 guests.  I went crazy on catering research...literally contacting about 40-50 caterers in the area. We haven't made a final decision yet but I think we are going to go with Emery's Catering.  They have excellent reviews and their facebook page has pictures of their work at Easton Beach and they look great and are at my fiance's standards, ha ha. They were also under $10k for appetizers and a plated dinner which my fiance Danielle also wanted.

Feel free to email me at coopman41e@yahoo.com and I would love to help you out.  We are both getting married there so we can share ideas with one another to make each other's day that much more special.

Good luck!!  Catering has hands down been the most aggrevating task for me so it was very relieving when we saw a price affordable one we both liked.
