Take 2: And invites are in the mail! Finally...

If finding, designing, printing, organizing, assembling, and addressing these damn invites wasn't enough, of course there would be problems with mailing them!!

I brought them to my town's post office, and the guy told me they all needed another $0.20 because of the bump in the middle from the ribbon. Now, this is the most tiny, minute bump there could be, and I still even brought it to work to double check it fit the size standards. Anyway, he put postage on my invites to Canada and then asked how many of the pre-stamped invites I had, and I told him never mind and I would go back another day.

This morning I went to the post office I visit every day for work, and they were so happy to take them and mail them for me. I don't know why I didn't just go there in the first place. But whatever... they are DONE! Gone, out of my sight, and now I can't wait to see those RSVPs!

Laura, I had the same issue when I mailed my invites- I had a couple of them weighed prior to sending them, was told how much postage I needed.... great.  I bought all of the stamps, put everything together, and went to the post office with 140 envelopes stamped and ready to go.  When I got there, I was told they were too thick and I needed .20 more on each.  I was furious.  Bad enough that I had to buy two stamps to put onto the envelopes to begin with (the lovely GOAT stamps were beautiful), but then I had to put two ugly army green stamps on the envelope in addition.  I was stamping and practically crying at the post office.

I could have bought a more expensive stamp to begin with if the first person was competent and checked the THICKNESS of the envelope as well.

As an aside, I also did wrap around labels and they told me that THOSE were going to be a problem too and they might come back to me.  I did not receive a single returned invitation for that.  Ugh, don't they know that brides are already stressed out enough?

Oh man Kelly... that made me LOL... Just the fact that you couldn't use a decent looking stamp is so sad haha

And your invitations were so beautiful, I hope they were worth it!
