so I was looking over my venue contract...

and it cost $350 to rent the dancefloor. *FUMES* Im at the mitten, so I decided to just have the dancing on the upstairs part, but now I feel like I need lounge furniture. I've been looking for rentals, but they are all so expensive, like I may as well get the dancefloor. Any other suggestions?

    WoW, that is a first...?!

I have never heard of that? For my reception venue, we have to pay extra if we need to use the kitchen... but were going to avoid that all together by having our caterering be buffet style. :o)

...In terms of rentals, look at mom/pop companies. They can be cheaer, but make sure they have what you are looking for...Good Luck!

that is all sorts of lame! me & fi looked at that place and ruled it out because they dont include very much for the amount they were asking. do you mind if i ask how much the charged you because they seemed a little wierd to me.

i loved the mitten building but avoided using them for the same reason sydney, it was expensive but hardly anything was included.

if it costs less to have the actual dance floor i'd probably opt to just do it rather than renting the furniture.  jmo though.

Can you just have the dancing upstairs without renting any furniture?

JZ's party Supply in San Bernardino rents dance floors.. I don't know how comparable they are in price though.

I had my reception at my mother's house so JZ's was the cheapest for me when it came to renting a dance floor.

    We used the Mitten
How many guests are you having?
We had 150 so we used the downstairs for the dinner and our DJ and bar was set up upstairs
They set up tall tables and also some chairs for people to sit upstairs

Well all total Im paying $3,900 for everything (food too). I am thinking of having the dancing upstairs too, but Im afraid of what it will look like if I dont rent furniture. I dont want it to look empty. I guess Im afraid of the unknown LOL. I guess tall tables will work...

3900 isnt bad for everything. i was told the rental fee is 4000 for just the reception that only included the table set ups. how much does it cost to rent furniture?

sv do you have pics? Im just so worried about what it will look like LOL. Im only having 50 people, so thats why I think it will look empty.

sydney, yeah I had planned a sat. wedding but when they said $4000 I was like Friday is cool with me!  (half the price!) They said that they will go out of bussiness if they charged regular price for sat. but like nobody is booking sat cause its too expensive. U still will go out of business DUH! As for the furniture, its costing like $250 for one stupid sofa. I heard another bride say that they are spending $600 total for lounge furniture. I think that I'll just go with the tall tables like sv did.

I do, but they are candid ones, on my home computer I can send you some tonight
If your having 50 guests you might just wanna rent the dance floor
It isnt super bare upstairs but it might look it if there arent alot bodies
Plus its probably cheaper to rent a dance floor than it is to rent furniture

half price to have it on a friday sounds great to me!

Do you need a dance floor? Just go without one. There is no dance floor at my venue either and I don't plan on renting one. People can just dance on the concrete.
