Should I change?

So my fiance I are possibly going up to the Wisconsin Dells for our "honeymoon" its only for 1 or 2 nights and we live near Chicago so it is a 3 hour drive or so. Should I change out of my dress before leaving? I really don't want to because I love my dress want pictures of us leaving all dressed up, but 3 hours is a long time to spend in a big wedding dress I don't think the Dells are the type of place to go walking around in a wedding dress. Thoughts?

Re: Should I change?

  • I would keep it on!  :)

  • What if you took pictures of you guys in the car waving (totally staged). And then changed into casual shorts/ sweats. I'm sure you will be wiped out t the end of the day and your hubby will want to be comfortable for the ride as well.

  • I would leave it on! :)

  • Leave it on, have a change of clothes in the back seat, if you get too uncomfotable you can change on the way.

  • Stage the pics, don't ride in your dress!

  • I agree with both of what you guys are saying, maybe we could find a compromise and leave in the dress and all but then stop by a friends house to change. Would it be too cheesy if I changed into white shorts and a white tank top that says bride on it?
  • I would change. But I like the idea of staging the pics! :)
  • Leave it on! You can stop along the way and change if need be :D
and have fun in the Dells!! (I'm a Wisconsinite ;))

  • I'd definitely at least stage photos, but I really like the idea of stopping by a friend's house to change, too!

I would definitely do a getaway in the dress and then figure out a place to change. I LOVE my dress but that doesn't mean I want to spend 3 hours in the car in it!

And I think your outfit idea is cute :)

  • I agree with PPs. Have your grand exit and then change somewhere. I think your change of clothes idea sounds super cute! Another good reason to change out of the dress is: Where would you keep it on your honeymoon? By changing, you can leave the dress with your mom (or MOH) for safe keeping.
