Shutterfly PhotoSharing

Alright so I wanted to set up a photosharing website for my wedding because a lot of my guests are older and don't have facebook nor have the desire to make one.  So I set up a share site and thought I could password protect it and give out the password at the wedding.  I can't for the life of me figure this out.  Can anyone help me? I might have set it up wrong in that case I'll redo, but basically I need a website that my guests can login, upload pictures, and have it be password protected in some way.  TIA!

Re: Shutterfly PhotoSharing

  • Okay, so I had a photoshare site with Shutterfly but I deleted it because I couldn't figure the dang thing out....I know that people can upload their photos to the site, I never figured it out...plus I ordered the business cards already with my account info for regular shutterfly...so instead of having the site, I'm just going to have them upload onto my account instead???

I'm hoping for some insight here too =)
  • LM did you just make an account for the wedding? I don't necessarily want to give out my email address and password to all my guests.

  • I made a separate Shutterfly account and will give the guests the login and password on a card at the reception.
  • yes, i used my wedding email address that I set up for wedding related emails only.  It helps keep my spam box in my personal email empty =)  I currently use one of my passwords and right before the wedding I had planned on changing the password to the password I have on the business cards.
  • oh here is one of the business cards:

  • I made the photoshare site. I am giving out the URL and the pw on VP business cards. I don't have to give them my password, just a password for the site. Does that make sense? If you want to see what mine looks like, PM me and I will send you the link. I don't want to post it publicly.

  • If you aren't set on shutterfly I used weddingturtle. They provide free cards to give out. The site can be password protected, but if the people don't want to go to the site to upload photos they can just email them to the site and the site uploads them for you. It's pretty cool.

  • Okay, so, I was bored with a headache and I remade the site and I understand it much better now that I've actually done it...

Pretty easy to use.  I password protected it....& I am orderering free business cards from VP again..I just have to pay shipping...
  • Bmore - you have PM

LM - How did you figure it out? I'm so illiterate on this stuff?

Syddy - I'm not set on shutterfly, so I might poke around weddingturtle as well.

  • okay so you go to: I PM'd you my site with the password.

    1) www.shutterfly.com
    2) click on the 'Share' tab
    3) click on the 'Create site' (it may prompt you to sign in)
    4) Choose the type of site you want.  Use the right arrow to go find the wedding one.
    5) Follow the prompts.  The site name I chose was: andreajoewedding....I then chose the option to have it password protected.
    6) I then followed the rest of the prompts.  I deleted the calendar and added a comment section on the 'home' page...I made it my own...

Now, here is what I put for my new business cards from VP:

    Did you bring your camera?
If so, we'd love for you to share your pictures from the wedding!

    entered website
    password:

Sign up to add pictures (sign up is free!!!)
Add an album and upload your pictures.
Feel free to make prints of your favorite photos from any album!

The cards will be at each place setting...and then again in the ty cards
  • I finally figured it out! I had missed the step in the beginning about the password somehow.  Thanks!!
