venue vent

The last meeting we had with our venue was back in July sometime.  At that point, he told us that we should set up one more meeting in mid September.  So I emailed him last Tuesday just to set it up and haven't heard a response.  I emailed him again yesterday and still nothing.  He's usually pretty good about getting back to me.  It's not all that serious-I can call if I don't get any response sometime in the next week, but it's really frustrating.  Why does he choose to be non-responsive so close to the wedding? We're only 3.5 weeks away and our schedule is insane; the earlier I can get this meeting out of the way, the better!

Re: venue vent

  • Do you have another contact? He could be out if the office and thats why he isn't responding. I know I had to wait for a reply from my venue back in june for a couple of weeks because she was on vacation. I would call the venue soon so you can get things finalized.

  • I don't even bother calling or email anymore- if it's something I need to deal with, I just go up to our venue... haha

As a venue coordinator myself, I do NOT recommend doing this unless you are extremely desperate.  It is very annoying, and most likely they will not be able to devote their full attention and time to your needs.  That being said, if he doesn't respond soon (by Monday), this may be your last resort.

  • Just call them.  Don't rely on emails.  My contact, for instance, asked at our first meeting if I had tried to email her because if so, she wanted to apologize in advance since other clients had said they weren't getting a response via email.  Turned out there was a problem with their system.  My contact always returns phone calls and if she doesn't, her assistant does, just to let you know your call was received and they will call back shortly.

Even if you have to leave a voicemail saying that you were wondering if the emails were received...who knows, maybe he's on vacation!
