If you are planning on using a foam circle as a base, I recommend spray painting the foam black or silver before starting.  That way little spaces between the brooches won't show the foam.

Also, use heavy gauge floral wire and attach pieces of the wire to the brooches using needle nose pliers.  This way, you have a more secure fit; the pins on the brooches are too thin and might not grip the foam the same way that the floral wire will.  Plus, the floral wire will be longer than the pin; aim for at least 3" pieces of wire.
Consider what kind of holder you are going for.  If you are using a plastic holder with the circlular plastic top, you can probably glue or wire the foam circle in, and then put a bow around the base.  If you want to use ribbon, like a pomander, attach the ribbon first (before the brooches and flowers) using the heavy gauge floral wire, so that you know where your center is.

    Good luck, and happy DIY'ing!

I also did a brooch bouquet, but then I took it all apart and did it again with flowers.  I recommend using the floral tape for each brooch stem, but instead of wrapping the whole handle with duck tape! It sounds weird but it keeps it together tighter for me!
Also, I used the real touch white roses from hobby lobby, and some of the petals got stained by the red hydragneas I used. You cant really tell in pictures but you can in person.  So I dont know if it was just those types of roses, or what. So just look out for that too!

Albertsonc your bouquet is so cute!!! I love it! Did you use a straform ball base as suggested by Haley?
Thank you both for your suggestions and pictures! :)
