Trading Services: So, what can you offer?

Okay, so what services can you offer in exchange for what you need.  Let's get a snapshot of the talents that this board has to offer.

As noted, in the "What do you need" thread, this is just to get some perspective and not been sanctioned yet by the knot.

So, what can you offer?

    Here's what I can offer:

    Address envelopes (I have really nice handwriting and handwrote all my invitation envelopes - many people thought I paid someone to do it)  - I can send samples upon request


    Be your Day of Coordinator


    Create your Guestbook if you're using a Photobook - I have journalism experience and I create yearbooks, I am the yearbook advisor for my son's school.  I can give you a link so you can see what I put together for my wedding


    Invitation assembly


    Favor assembly


    Be your Bridesmaid - not literally, but if someone can't make it to an appointment or they're flaky, call me up and I'll tag along -- I can be your second set of eyes

    Well I would be willing to be a free second photographer for someone, as long as I was able to use the images on my website  and I"m not booked for the date.... :) I can then give the bride a slideshow on my website set to music of the photos I take.

    I was telling my FI about this idea, and he said he would help out too! So you would be getting us "two for one" lol!
    We can help cook/prepare/set up/serve food (Fi is a cook and I am not so bad myself)
    Set up and take down tables, chairs, decorations, etc.

    I could help call your guests that did not RSVP to confirm if they are attending or not

    And anything else you need help with!

    This post is GREAT! What an excellent idea. I could offer second photog  and chef/cook/bartender skilzzz. Maybe some other stuff too. I'd have to think. :)

    Hey guys! Um, so I'm newly engaged (been stalking the boards for forever though!) but I think this is a GREAT idea! I sew and do machine embroidery (monogramming and whatnot) so I can sew table runners, flower girl dresses and do simple alterations (nothing on a wedding gown, but if a bridesmaid needs a dress hemmed-I've got it on lockdown) and I can also monogram table runners and most bridesmaids gifts (like totes and what not).  Im also pretty good with flowers, so if you were thinking of diy-ing your flowers and needed some help-Im your girl!  I have a flickr account if anyone wants to see stuff I've done (most of its baby-related, but itll give you an idea of what I can do!)

    stiffaknee - I could possibly use your embroidery and flower skills!!
    I am going to DIY my RB pillow, and wanted to put our names and date on it, but have no experience with embroidery. Can you do something like that on satin?
    And I will be DIY'ing flowers come October. :)

    It depends on the satin, but yes, i can monogram/embroider pretty much anything.  Ideally, the fabric will be sturdy (you know how sometimes, if you pull on a silky fabric, it warps a little bit? that kind of fabric would be challenging b/c itll pucker and may get little snags when you stitch it.  You can still embroider it, it just might not look as pretty as maybe a taffeta) but there are certainly ways to get around working with more delicate fabrics! I monogrammed a cashmere throw blanket and I was sweating bullets for 8 straight minutes-but it turned out great!
