I googled it and it appears to be some type of fundraiser for a wedding.  If that's truly what it is everyone on this board will tell you fundraising for your wedding is rude and tacky. http://www.groomgroove.com/weddings_101/stag_and_doe.php
If it's not I'm sorry and please clarify what it is so we can further help you.

  • People never cease to amaze me.  Fundraisers for weddings?  Will the entitlement never end?
  • All I can say is...wow!
  • I'd never heard of a stag and doe until I joined this board, but they're clearly regional. I would suggest not doing this -- plan and pay for, on your own, the wedding you can afford.

I have no idea what a stag and doe ticket would look like, but if you were so inclined, I can't imagine they'd be hard to make on your own with say Word.

    Wow nevermind.

It is something we do in Canada. We have a big party before the wedding and everyone can come, all the people you can't invite to wedding. Usually in a small town the whole town comes. It's kind of the fun thing to do on a Friday/Saturday night for everyone in the community. It includes free food and raffles and games ect. There is a charge to get in which pays for a lot of the raffle prizes and food etc.

I saw some cute tickets (kinda like invitations) that someone had once that had personalized caracatures of the couple and I thought that would be fun. But now I'm just sad I even asked a question as I just joined the site and thought people would be helpful.

The only thing rude is some of your comments... clearly if you don't understand what something is you should ask before you make nasty remarks.

There are lots of Canadiens on this site and I'm certain not all of them are doing this. You live in a large country and shouldn't make such arbitrary blanket statements.

And no one here was rude; they were honest. You'd do well to learn the difference.

  • I don't understand. If you are trying to raise money for a wedding why spend money on custom carricture invitations? How about just save that money for the actual wedding? The whole thing seems completely counterintuitive.

  • Hi,  I guess it depends on what the traditions are in the families.  My fiancé's family does Stag and Does for everyone that gets married.  It is not what I'm wanting but it's something that sometimes needs to be accepted as traditions for some people.  My fiancé's family was shocked that we WEREN'T having one until I agreed.

As for ticket designs.  I'm using a program from Staples called: Sure Thing Ticket Maker.  You can buy, as of last checking, boxes of 400 tickets for around 12.95 and design, make, and print your own.  I am designing them and my FIL-to be is going to print them.
  • I'm from a small town and EVERYONE hosts a stag and doe! its not seen as TACKY or RUDE at ALL everyone knows that weddings cots a lot of money and for most people we look forward to going to stag and does, cheap drinks, food, games, prizes and raffles make it a great night out and it benifits the bride and groom. half the time i go to stag and doe of people i don't even know. i think its a great chance to entertain people and help raise money for your wedding!
