I am looking for a venue for a low budget wedding recption and possibly ceremony. Im In the joliet area south of the city. it can be a place that has inside caterer or a place were i can use my own food/caterer.

    Try Piltcher Park in Joliet. They have both! A good friend of mine is getting married in Sept. and they are also looking into the park. They have a nature center and a bigger reception hall venue.

    How many people are you having?

    I'm getting married at Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet- I'm using the Victorian Ballroom for my reception for about 200. If you have a smaller number, you can hold the reception in the Mansion itself which would probably be cheaper- plus you wouldn't have to pay food/drink for a lot of people.

    For what it's worth, I love Jacob Henry Mansion. It's family owned and they all work there. Grandparents own it- then the mom (daughter of owner) and her daughters (grandchildren of owner) work there. You can tell they have such pride in everything they do. They are awesome, helpful, easy to get a hold of, answer quickly, ect. Check it out!
