Hi guys! Thank you so much for all the well wishes and the stories. It made me feel very at ease.
Well, it turns out that my gallbladder was
very infected. They told me in the ER initially that it wasn't infected at all. But it turns out it was so infected, I was admitted on Friday via the emergency room AND I ended up having to stay one extra day so that they could help me fight the infection, and I'm on
two antibiotics.
Being in the hospital was okay, I guess. I always knew nurses were good people but now I am convinced they are angels. My nurses must have worn a path in the floor going to and from my room. I couldn't even get myself out of bed to pee because of the pain and the IV.
My first night in the hospital was so effing miserable. I had another flare up very late at night, and not even morphine could soothe me. They had to give me Xanax to calm me down! Plus my roommate was a 94 year old woman who was senile and snored so loudly she shook the walls.
The surgery went really well. It took only 45 minutes and guess what? I don't have stitches! They use like sort of crazy glue stuff called Dermabond. I have 4 little holes: one in my belly, one just above my belly button and two in my right side. The worst part was the first day after surgery. I had nausea and dizzyness and gas pain. They kept me good and doped up though!
TMI COMING UP ... The worst, worst part was right before the operation, they discovered that no one gave me a pregnancy test, which is something they have to do before they operate. I told them a billion times I wasn't pregnant because I was on BCP, but they said that wasn't foolproof, and they needed to check anyway. They had to delay the operation for TWENTY MINUTES while they got their sh*t together, all the while I am still in terrible pain. Also, since they told me to pee BEFORE I was wheeled down to the operation waiting room, I couldn't pee when they needed a pregnancy test. So what do they have to do? Give me a catheter. />_< I was seriously in tears by the time they wheeled me to the operating room because I just wanted everything
over with.
TMI OVER
I went home Monday around 4pm and slept most of the day away but it felt awesome to sleep and not have to be woken up so someone could check my vitals.
Right now I'm getting up and about. I showered, I went for a 10 minute walk around the house, sat downstairs to watch "Glee" and I was upgraded to soft foods as opposed to a liquid diet. Oh and I lost 12 pounds. BF has been taking very good care of me and of course my mom is too.
So, so far so good! Sorry for the long post LOL Thought you guys would want to know what's been happening. Thanks again so much for the good luck and the stories and the advice
