Theatres without Seats?

I am planning a masquerade themed wedding and would love to use a theatre venue! However, I'm looking for a place that has either removeable seats or a theatre where the seats have been removed. Anyone heard of such a thing??

The only places I know of are in Chicago. The Aragon and the Congress Theaters. But neither is cheap, and neither is close to you.

You might try the Majestic Theater http://www.k3majestictheatre.com/ i nKankakee. It's fairly new but the owner has been in the industry for a long time. I don't know what the seating situation is.

Oh the Congress is NOT somewhere you want a wedding. I work there for shows, it is badly in need of so many repairs and so much is dirty and gross. Don't do there.

Oh, yeah. The Congress is Nasty (and that's with a capital N). I only mentioned it because it fit the sole criteria of having no seats in the house.

I love the masquerade idea! Have you thought of using a theatre that has seats? You can always use the stage as the reception area. Many girls on this board have done that actually.

Don't know the pricing but the Vic and Riveria both have open floors, so that could work for you.

Congress comes to mind, but not for weddings. Place is dirty and needs renovation. It would probably be cheaper to rent a stage and bring it into your venue and of course give you more options.

I am getting married at Mayne Stage Theatre in Rodgers park. They do not have seats. They are setting up seats for the ceramony and taking them away for the dance party that is following. It is a beautiful theatre, you should check it out!
