Has anyone ever seen this kind of dress?

Hi everyone :]

I have my perfect dress in my head, [born from various different pictures I've seen] but I can't find anything that's actually close to what I'm lookin for.
I was just wondering if anyone's seen anything like it, or if I'm gonna have to look into custommade.

Basically, I'd like a fairly short dress [maybe kneelength, around about] but with a long flowing lace overlay, preferably with a [satin? Dress material, anyway] layer underneath the lace. The idea being that the satin/lace part is detachable, so I have a long beautiful dress for the ceremony/photos etc, but also a wedding dress I can dance in [I'm an avid Ceroc dancer, so a dress I can move in is superimportant]. I don't want to buy a second dress, rather, incorporate the two.

I can't figure out how to put the one picture I have on here, but it's my pick on my planner if you guys can see that?

You might be able to find a full-length last dress and have a seamstress alter it to fit your vision.

I have seen lace overlays, but typically on antique or vintage dress sites and sellers, I guess they were popular in the Edwardian period? Is something like this kind of what you were thinking? http://www.antiquedress.com/item9935.htm (I assume not in black, but general idea?) I have also seen something like that on Pintrest, but the link doesn't lead to anything useful. So, that does exist and it seems easy to get a shorter white dress.

Also, have you looked into some of the convertable dresses that people mention around here? It might be a good option for going from long to short if you can't find your ideal dress.
