What do you think about Videography?

Is it worth it?  Based on some light research, it looks like AT LEAST another $1K in expenses.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

We are doing a video at FI's insistance. We went with The Pros for our package. They were the most affordable and we really like the person we met and booked him right there and he has met with us independently too. I know a lot of Brides say not to use The Pros but we are using them and they have been extremely professio0nal and helpful and we like what they do.

I agree with you!  Videography can be really expensive especially when I've been looking at professional venders. I am determined to find something that will fit my budget though!  I started looking on Craigslist to try to find some more affordable local options, you might want to check there.  Here's one that's HD and is actually under a $1,000:  http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/crs/2156432365.html

    Good luck on your search!

Hiring my videographer was the best decision I made for my wedding.  Bryan and Tracy who own the company are just amazing people. I had no intention of having one at the beginning but the day goes by in an instant and I am so glad I can look back on it.  I will warn you that mine are out of Tampa so travel would be cost extra but I think they are the best money can buy.  Here's my wedding trailer

Mine was about $2400 for everything.

I really want videography at our wedding, but we simply cannot afford it.  When I was still in search, I never found anything close to what I wanted for $1K here in the DC area.  Good for you!!

    Hello there,

I am a nester now, but wanted to share with you that my husband and I have started a videography company within the past year.  He has done about 3 weddings so far and his prices are VERY reasonable.  If you are interested, please check out 2 wedding demos (different styles) at

Basic packages are listed below, however packages can be adjusted upon request.

Shoot and Edit for 4 hour day - $650 (one camera)
Shoot and Edit for a 8 hour day- $1500  (two cameras)
Photo Montage can be included for an additional $75 (0-50 photos)

If you are interested please email him Shawn @tippywalk.com.

    Thanks and good luck!

Hi. I was on the fence about a videographer too. I couldnt decide if it was worth it. I asked a lot of married friends about it and they pretty much all said the same thing- That they have watched it maybe twice since they have been married and most of my friends have been married 5 plus years. So i decided to go with the least expensive package with the least expenisve videographer i could find bc in the end i wanted to have the option to re-live my wedding even if its only two times in my life! ha! Just my two cents. Good Luck!

I was able to get Blue Sky Films to about $2k with all the bells and whistles but they have cheaper packages, just not with all the editing included.  I'm with you all tho, I'd like to find something under $1k.
