Dress Question?

Ladies, those of you who have purchased your dress how many bridal shopes did you go to before you found the one?

I went to 1... I wasn't expecting to find my dress when I did but when I did I knew it was the one and I wasn't leaving without ordering it.

I went to about 11 different Bridal Shops before Saying Yes!! When I first got engaged I was living about 5 hours away from FI and family. I was in graduate school about graduate in a month after we got engaged so my roomates from graduate school wanted to go and look with me! I found my dress at the 1st place I went too but I wanted to show my mom and other family before I said yes! Plus my parents were going to pay and I was 5 hours from home so dress fittings wouldn't work. My Fi family lives about an hour 1/2 from my family so I decided to try on dresses near both families, that is how I got up to 5 with each family. The reason why it took so long to say Yes was my mother was not a fan of my dresses, her vision of my wedding dress was different then mine. My 11th shop I went to was where I said yes because my mom saw the reaction of my aunts, maid of honor and etc to me in the dress! I wanted to also make sure I somewhat tried on EVERY dress and style out there before saying yes so I wasn't looking. I am so happy I did because both sides of the family got to be apart of a big decision

Only ended up going to one- DB. I wouldn't be concerned with having an emotional reaction when you find 'the one', some women don't and if that's what you base it on- you'll drive yourself crazy.

I didn't cry or anything, the longer I had my dress on- the more I didn't want to take it off, lol.

1 also- went shopping more on a whim, but ended up finding the perfect dress! I didn't cry either- I'm not really like that. Each time I've put it on, I just don't want to take it off!

I went to four, though one was just specifically to try on one dress. The first store I went to had some dresses I loved, but were just a little too pricey for me. Luckily, the last place I went to had a dress that looked better on me than those and was less expensive.

I went to 4 total. The first visit, I went to 1 with just my mom and sister (MOH). The 2nd visit, I went to 3 (2 different ones and the one I went to first just to show one dress I liked there) with my mom and FMIL. The last visit I ended up going to a 4th different one, than BACK to one where I thought had MY dress, because I wanted my sister to approve. Once we went back to that store, I decided it was my dress. I wanted to purchase it that day but was waiting on my new credit card to come in the mail...of course when I got home, it was sitting in my mailbox. So I went back a few days later and purchased the dress and my veil, and drank champage

. Now, I get to go pick it up on Tuesday! So excited!

I went to one. Got mine at DB. Had like 11 dresses I wanted to just "try on" to get an idea of what I would like. I put the 4th one and didnt want to take it off. I was sold.

I went to 3 I thought I found THE dress at the first one but later found out it was a style that FI hated, and while I understand its something that I have to like I didn't want to walk out in something he totally was like WTFlip about on our wedding day lol. So I went to two others DB which I hated and finally Alfred Angelo. I found an unexpected dress there that was a perfect compromise to what I love and what he likes. I didn't cry either but I completely agree that you find your dress when you can't imagine having to take it off!

I went to two, but I hate even counting the first one. I tried on two dresses there and when I went to DB, I tried on 3 more and found the one I loved. I put it on and I loved it. But my group that came didn't have a reaction to it so I took it off. I had on a dress that they were having a reaction to but I hated it. And then I saw someone else with my dress on and I knew then that I wanted it. Price played a big factor. I ended up getting a job there after I tried on my dress and there was a dress that I thought I would love more than mine so after I worked there for a bit I tried on the more expensive dress. And it made me fall in love with my dress all over again. I didn't want to take it off. I didn't cry, but I didn't want to take it off.

Over 15... I had a hard time finding a dress I fell in love with. I didn't have one of those total overwhelming crying moments either. I actually left the store, went to another one, tried on more dresses but kept comparing them to one I really liked. Went back, tried it on, and knew it was what I wanted.
