OOT Bags: Help me with Ideas!

Ladies,

I am starting (finally? belatedly?) to think about bags for OOT guests.  We are definitely providing some bottled water and a walking map of downtown Ann Arbor in each, as well as a welcome note and a schedule of events for the weekend (since we are having a welcome reception and farewell brunch).

Other than that, I think we will mainly be providing snacks.  I think it would be awesome to use products unique to or affiliated with Michigan in some way.  So tell me, if you were coming to my wedding, what sorts of "Michigan" products (or even other products) would you like to get in an OOT bag?

TIA!

Chocolate-covered dried cherries?  FI and I both scarf them like they're going out of style.

If it's in A2 you could include some craft beer, like anything from Arbor Brewing Comany, The Jolly Pumpkin, Grizzly Peak or Blue Tractor breweries. They are all located in and around Ann Arbor. Better Made Chips or Faygo soda are also items I would include in my own OOT bags because of them being popular snacks from Michigan comapnies. I don't know if you're a U of M fan or not (I'm not... lol) but you could use something maize and blue to tie in the whole Ann Arbor theme. I also think that a deck or cards are also a cool thing to add, that and sunscreen if it's an outdoor wedding.

How about better made potato chips or detroit popcorn, or Faygo Pop?

    Better Made Chips
    Faygo Pop
    Sander's Chocolate or hot fudge
    Jiffy Mix (made in Chelsea)
    Vernor's pop
cherry something--there is a Cherry Republic in a2

Maybe also throw in a small medicine packet?  Like one of those two packs of Tylenol... it would be very welcomed if you needed it and had forgot!

Oooohhhhhhhh, Sander's Hot Fudge.  I second, third, AND fourth this idea.   I would literally go out and buy you a second wedding present if I got to my hotel room and found a jar of Sander's Hot Fudge in a bag on the bed.  Just so's you know.

Regarding the Sanders Hot Fudge:  There is an "outlet" near me in Eastpointe on 9 Mile near Kelly.  They have all the regular stuff, discounted hot fudge, and they also have seconds, the "screw ups" by the factory.  You get a full bag for $2 and all that is wrong is one in the bag will be connected to another one because they got too close and then solidified that way.

Thanks for asking this Meg, I had no idea what to do for the OOT bags. For sure some snacks, water bottles, and Tylenol etc. I was also planning on putting a list of our fav local restaurants/things to do for the OOTers, ceremony/reception info, and shuttle info.

    Thanks for the ideas, ladies!

Another idea could be gear from Made in Detroit.  I found on thier website several items that could be left in a gift basket....koozies, stickers, patches, beer mugs or shot glasses.  You can buy some of these items in bulk, making the price very reasonable.

We're doing Bettermade chips, Vernors, Faygo (red pop or rock n rye since they are the most unique flavors IMO), home made chocolate chip cookies (I have a secret recipe), a locally picked piece of fruit (hopefully from FIL's pear tree if they are ripe enough), peanuts from Rocky Peanut Co. in Eastern Market and maybe some candy from Truann's chocolate in Detroit (although that may break the budget).
I just received the tote bags we plan on using yesterday (I ordered them last Thurs.). They are reusable and were only 59 cents each! They aren't anything fancy, but they were priced the same or better than any paper bags I saw. I got them here:
