Congrats to the other June 15th brides for being one year out!

This may have been asked before, but I want to know how you met your FI! Was it love at first sight??

I met my FI in mine/my uncles front yard (Uncle is my neighbor). He was friends with my cousins now husband in high school and they ran into each other one day. My cousin's husband invited FI to his birthday cookout being held at my uncles. My dad had called me that day because I was in town and about to drive back down to school, but said I should come over for my cousin's husbands bday cookout. Well I ended up talking to FI a lot but did not really think much of dating him because I was recovering from a failed relationship. Well FI felt otherwise and I was surprised when he had Myspace (ha!) messaged me to ask if we could go out. I figured you know what, its about time I moved on and happily accepted the date. All my friends at school helped doll me up for our first date (I have actually never been on one, my bfs before FI were just guys I knew from school). I really enjoyed myself, but I hated that he chewed tobacco. But I brought it up maybe a week later, he decided to quit. And 1 week after that, we started dating. I guess I figured if a guy can quit a tobacco habit cold turkey just so he can kiss me, he must be a keeper!

My FI is 5 years older then me. When I was 16, I took a job as a casihier at a local pool company, and he worked there also as a sales person. At the time, he was 21 and in college, had a girlfriend, and was Mr Start of the Football team Too Cool For Everyone Else, so we really didn't talk much other than the occasional group convorsations. However, I did become friends with 3 of his good friends (I was young so I didn't really hang out with them, went to one work party) and talked to them all the time. I only worked there one summer, but I would constantly run into his friends because none of the went away to college (he did) so I'd see them in town, at the gym, etc. (Side note, FI and I actually discovered we were at the same party when I was 17, a year before I met him, and he thought I was cute then, lol). So anway, fast forward to the summer after I graduated high school, my best friend invited me to a party at her coworkers house. I didn't want to go since I wouldn't know anyone, but I had promised her weeks before so I sucked it up, brought another girlfriend and figured I'd just leave early if it was lame. At the party was current FI and his 3 friends I met back at the pool store. I saw his friends there and ran over to give them all hugs and actually found out one of them was newly single (I had a curch on him forveer) and he was actually hitting on me all night but he was SUPER wasted. I started playin drinking games with Matt (FI) and some of those friends, and Matt and I really hit it off. We hung out all night until it was time to go, exchanged numbers, and get this, told me I had to CALL HIM. I was a little put off, and really nervous, but he was so cute so I thought what the heck, called him the next evening and we went on our first date to the movies.

And it was prefect ever since, and that was almost 8 years ago.

Love everyone's stories! My FI drives a bus and I used to take his bus from work to home when my family just moved here and I was still living with my parents. I thought he was cute and we would have small talk while he was driving, sometimes I would even miss the 5:20 bus so that I could take the 5:40 that he was on (I haven't told him to this day haha). Anyways, at his job they have to change routes every 3 months, so he mentioned it at some point and we ended up exchanging numbers since we enjoyed our conversations quite a bit. He ended up calling me the next day, we chatted for almost an hour and in the end made plans to go hang out. I never thought it would turn out into anything serious (especially since I was casually dating my old co-worker at that time), but we just clicked and within a week I stopped seeing my co-worker and Derek and I would literally spend all our time together. The funny thing is that he is also my first "real" long-term relationship, and I'm happy it is that way.

Congrats to all the June 15th ladies!

FI and I met at our friend Melissa's 25th birthday party trolley. We were all meeting at her house before and taking the trolley into Boston to dance and drink. I went with my bff (the birthday girl's younger sister) and Billy (FI) came in after us. I thought he was cute and told Melissa who had the immediate reaction of "that could work". We talked a little that night but there was another girl there who was way more aggressive than I am and was all over him all night. So we didn't get to spend too much time togehter. A few weeks later Melissa played matchmaker and we started talking through facebook. We talked for like a week online then made plans for what was supposed to be our first date but he got sick and had to cancel. We rescheduled and went out a few days later. We've been together ever since and Melissa is a BM 1.) bc she's a great friend and 2.) when she played matchmaker she said "just make sure I'm a BM when you two get married." I laughed it off but here we are just under a year away from the wedding.

Yay! One yr mark for me too!!!

I meet my FI when out with friends. We have a lot of friends in common. I thought he was cute but he was also a big time meathead and kinda a d**k. We hungout a few times but never really were "bf, gf" Years went by and after my husband passed away I was out with one of my girlfriends and he was there. Lets just say I got pretty drunk and he took good care of me.

I met my FI when we were both 18 and working at Pizza Hut. I thought he was really cute so I asked him to go to my prom with me and the rest is history.

I met my FI through a friends boyfriend, they went to college together. We all just went out one night, I wasnt really looking for a boyfriend, but he definitely changed my mind! I met FI when I was 19 and he was 24. Now we are 24 and 29. Not nearly as exciting as some of your stories!

Ah, I love reading everyone's stories!! Congrats to the June 15th girls!!

We met at the beginning of June, 2009. My friend Carol called me up and said that her and her fiance and some friends were going out that night, and invited me to meet up with them. When I got there, Carol's fiance introduced me to his friend, "J". We sat at the bar all night talking, and evenutally, this "J" fellow asked for my number. We exchanged texts for the next couple of days, and eventually, "J" suggested that we have dinner. I said yes, and then panicked because I still had no idea what his real name was. I was too embarrassed to ask him, because I had been talking to him for a few days at this point, so I did some serious facebook stalking and found out that his name was Justin. A few days later, we went out, and the rest is history...

I met my FI at work. He asked me out to a movie. He was so nervous asking me out. He took me to see the Bucket List and subway because we had to wait like an hour so we ate to kill time.

FI and I met at summer camp! We've known each other probably since I was about 13/he was about 17. By the time I got to be 17 I had started to go to the parties with some of the older camp staff that he also attended and we ended up getting closer over the years, working together on staff. My best friend from camp (and now MOH) starting dating his best friend from high school/camp (now FI's BM) and we started dating about two months after they did. Actually only three of our ten wedding party attendants didn't work at camp with us, haha. But yeah we've known each other a long time and have been together four this August.

Congrats to all the 15th brides. So happy to finally hit the one year mark. (my FI just said its our -1 year anniversary lol) Anyway, my FI and I actually went to high school together and I was friends with lots of his friends. I actually went to Italy and made out with his bf and BM Vinny. So we knew each other but never spoke directly. He was a smart jock and I was a party girl who skipped every class but art so we weren't exactly on the same path. But on my 31st b-day my friends forced me to go out because it was the night before thanksgiving and everyone went out that night (which is why I didn't want to go, I hated seeing ppl from high school) but I went. I ended up seeing a guy I knew that I was crushing on turns out he had a girlfriend, was Vinny's cousin and was with my FI that night who recognized me from high school. We ended up talking for hours after the bar closed and went out that Friday, we both DID NOT want relationships so we casually dated but after a few months realized we were falling for each other hard and now here we are. Sorry that was longer then expected.

wooohooo I can't believe we are already at the 1 year mark! FI and I met in 2007, I had basically just got dumped by a loser who was cheated on me (he broke up with me when I confronted him) so I was a little sad and a friend I had met during my 1 year at WMU invited me to go to dinner with him and his family and some friends for his 20th birthday. I said ok, why not, I need to get out. So anyways, I went over to his house and followed him to the restaurant, shortly after we sat down in walks this adorable guy, who was introduced as Jason. Instantly I was attracted, we talked throughout dinner but he knew I had just gotten out of a relationship so he didn't really see me that way. So I told our friend that I had a crush, so of course, he went and told Jason. They invited me to join another of their friends birthdays a couple days later, which is when we really got to talk and a couple weeks later we rode together to go visit our friend at WMU and a couple weeks after that went on an official date and he asked me to be his girlfriend. Here we are 5 years later and 1 year out from our wedding!!

I love everyone's stories! So crazy how the world works! And yes Congrats to the other 6/15/13 brides. FI had a good point yesterday. He said "This is our last 'normal' June 15th. From now on it will be our wedding day, then anniversaries!"

FI and I met at a tailgate! (He ended up proposing in the same spot). My best friend and I were tailgating before a college football game. We went to meet up with a guy I went to grade school with who she was "hanging out with". His friend (FI) was there also and I remember thinking he had a very nice smile. The boys went to the game and us girls continued to drink

We met up with them after the game and I thought he was so sweet because he helped me find somewhere to put my coat and bought my beer. (Obviously it doesn't take much to impress me!) We actually ended up making out in the boys' bathroom at one of the bars we were at! Looking back now, that is TOTALLY not either of our styles, but whatever

We didn't talk for a couple months, but went on our first date in December and moved in together in April. Again, not our style! But we've been together 2 1/2 years and living together for 2, so we must be doing something right!
