fascinators and veils

hi i like the retro look and convenience of a short veil or birdcage veil w a fascinator of feathers. but i am not sure it will go with the dress style i have chosen.
the dress is strapless ballet length via Grace Kelly, mid 1950's w a tulle skirt.
i also have wrist length white gloves for me and all bridesmaids.
i have attached some pics.
which veil should it be?!
thanks for any opinions!!!

  • Beautiful dress! I like the birdcage veil the best.

  • I love birdcage veils!  The tulle veil you show would probably match best with your tulle dress, but I think either one would look fantastic with that dress.

  • Ditto, I think either one will look great!  It is hard to choose, isn't it?  I know how you feel.  I definitely think a short veil in general will look very retro chic

I think I like the first best, and it would look best with your dress.  My second choice was the tulle birdcage.  :D

  • I vote the wide netting birdcage. But, I always vote for that, haha. LOVE IT!

    Dress is gorgeous.
  • thanks so much for the opinions, my bridesmaids arent opinionated enough :)

alyssa324   i found the dress pic online, but so far i havent seen anything like it in a store in my price range, so i am actually having it made by a seamstress friend of mine. she mainly makes corsets, so i wl probably have some corseting in the bodice for support.

its a "ballet" length, which i love, being a former ballerina and its a retro length..i think it became popular late 1950s after the tea length (audrey hepburn in "funny face" tea length wedding dress was my 1st idea). anyway it hits at about the ankles.

we are doing an outdoor wedding and reception under a tent, so i dont want anything that hits the floor err mud ;)
