Avoid A+ Night Life

Hi Everyone,
I will get together my vendor reviews from our wedding, but first I wanted to write a quick note about our DJs.

We were really disappointed in the quality and effort from our DJs.  A+ Nightlife did my sister's wedding and did a pretty good job, so 3 years later we booked them for our wedding.  Our reception was at the Grand Manse.  The company did not figure out how to make their system sound well in the room.  The DJ's sounded muffled and it was really irritating.   None of our guests could understand what was going on.  However, the house system was just fine when we used it for speeches.  My husband asked the DJ to switch over to the house system, but they would not.  A+ is big on guest participation, but when no one heard what was going on, we had to recruit guests to play the games.  It was frustrating to me, but really frustrating to my fiance.  I hated that we were pre-occupied with improving the DJ situation during the first half of our reception and that when we visited with the guests, the all mentioned how awful the DJ was.  In fact, most said, "Thank goodness the DJ finally shut up".

Secondly, they played several songs that we asked not to have played.  For example, we had asked that they not play "Single Ladies" for the boquet toss, but they did.

Thirdly, we paid extra for some additional extras.  Here are two examples.  One was about $75 worth of games that the DJ did not do at our wedding.  Another was a game they play for releasing tables, but it obviously didn't work because no one could here him, so our coordinator just released tables to eat.  This was an additional $40.  After the wedding, we contacted the owner, Mike, to expressed our disatisfaction and ask for a refund for the activities we paid for that they skipped.  He made excuses for every complaint and said we would not recieve a refund.  He did not apologize.  He said we had their best employees there.

I also was upset that even with several meetings and several emails that stated what exactly we wanted, the DJ contacted us multiple times in the days leading up to the wedding.  Mike is really unorganized.  We made the effort to always contact his wife Brenda, who is also a DJ, with all of our information because we thought she seemed more with it and organized, but that still did not make a difference.

A+ Nightlife's packages are over $1,000.  I suggest using your money more wisely then we did.  We were disappointed not just by the performance and quality of our DJs, but the lack of professionalism, responsibility, and integrity of the owner.

I personally would take them to small claims court to get back the money that you spent on things you never received.

That's horrible! I'm glad I'm not going with them! Things like that worry me. You do all of this planning and spend all of this money with just a hope that things will turn out okay. Well I work in a salon where we have brides in all the time, I'll be sure to relay this message when they ask about vendors.
