Inexpensive bridal salons?

Other than David's Bridal, is there anywhere in the area to look for dresses on the more inexpensive side? Bonus points if they have samples to try on in larger sizes.

Thanks in advance! :)

You could try Alfred Angelo.  They were really crowded the day I went, but the lady I worked with was super friendly.  They had lots of pretty dresses within my budget (the day I went it was around $750).  If I remember correctly, the dresses were organized by size.

    Hope this helps!

Edit: I ended up buying my dress from Pizazz Bridal up in Aberdeen. The Saturday I went, I was the only bride there. I had my own room (so no going into a dressing room, putting on a dress, and then walking out into a room with a bunch of other brides), and the two ladies were wonderful (It was the owner and a younger girl).  They have the prices of their dresses on their website.  You might be limited on actual dress sizes they have in stock, as they are a smaller store.

I went to Columbia Bridal Boutique over the weekend and I tried on dresses in a wide range of prices. Many were under $1,000. I tried one that was $640. The Mori Lee dresses tended to be the lower ones in the store.

Thanks for all the advice... I really appreciate it! I guess now I have no excuse for putting off the dress shopping. ;)

If you decided to go to Alfred angelo try to go during the week early to mid afternoon if you can. They are literally dead then! That is when i went the one time and i think there was me and one other person there! I did get my dress from them and i just love it. There is a pic in my bio. If you can get her ask for Samantha! She was wonderful to work with! Oh and i paid less then 700 for my dress which is a 26W!!!!

Depending on where you are in the area, if you aren't against crossing the border, check out Simone's Unlimited in Hanover, PA. My dress was 1100 and it is exquisite. They carry a ton of different styles, I ordered a size 14 but they were able to get me into size 10s in some of the dresses. Also the staff is INCREDIBLE to work with. Stepfanie is always happy to help with anything you need and she spent 3 hours with me the day I went shopping. Never once did she make me feel like I was taking too long. Just wanted to spread the love.

I don't know if they are coming to DC/Baltimore anytime soon, but check out Brides Against Breast Cancer. They offer sample and used dresses at a HUGE discount. They are headquartered in SC, but go on tour every so often. I got my dress there for $600, but the most expensive dress I saw there was a St. Pucci for $1,200. Plus, the proceeds go to help women with breast cancer, so it's win-win!!
