unstacked wedding cakes

Hello Ladies,

I am really confused about the style of cake i want... i'm not really in love with the traditional 3 tier stacked round cakes.. they are beautiful but not quite my style... i'm thinking about 4 square cakes at different heights on the table has anyone seen this before and if so can you send me some pics....

I dont like the teirs either and am planning on having varied height plates of cupcakes, with our small cutting cake on a small 2 teir plate with cupcakes underneith.
Dont have pics tho, just the one in my head.
I am making the plates by going to thrift stores and getting cool candlesticks/vases, and gluing cool plates on top, then painting them all white.

I won't have pictures until about a month from now, but I am using wooden boxes of varying sizes, draping white material over and around them and displaying 6 round cakes of different sizes on them.  Each cake will be decorated and there will be some simply ivy decorations around the cake table, but the draped material will be enough for the most part.

I've also heard of people using different types of decorative stands: rustic boxes, basket weave, stumps, glass or crystal, and colored stands with white cake.

Here's the closest I could find to what you're describing...

Sort of a combo of the two pictures, yes?

Most bakers probably have special stands for this exact type of cake. This style was very popular about 10+ years ago.

check out cakecentral.com and go to the cake galleries...there are probably lots of pics of that style.

I think that style looks awesome.  If we weren't doing cupcakes, that's probably what I'd do!

There was something similar to this on a wedding show (I believe four weddings) were there were 4 seperate cakes but to update the pillar look they were sitting upon glass cylinders filled with flowers. It looked gorgeous
