Imagen International

Hi all,

FI and I met with Brittany from Imagen last night, and we loved her! We are both so excited about Imagen that we are considering cancelling our appointment with another photographer on Sunday. I have read the good reviews on here in previous threads, but I wanted to throw this question out there. For those of you that used them or didn't use them, was there anything you specifically didn't like? My FI was the one who suggested we cancel our appointment with the next photog, because we both feel so strongly about going with Imagen. We just want to make sure it really isn't a "too good to be true" deal...

I look forward to hearing from previous Imagen brides or brides who decided to go with someone else. Thanks!

Re: Imagen International

  • I felt the same way after we met with our photographer, and almost cancelled our appointment at Imagen, but I wanted to have met with at least two different photogs, and I'm glad that we did because it reaffirmed my gut feeling, which was to go with the first photographer (Elisabeth Ann Photography).

We met with Brittany from Imagen as well, and she was really nice and personable, and we all really liked her. However being that our guest list is rather large, she said we would probably be paired up with Alex or Lizzie, and because we're planning from  out of town, we wouldn't have a chance to meet them first, and I wasn't comfortable with that.

The other major reason I went with EAP was because Elise asked me about the wedding, what I had planned, how I wanted the day to go and things to feel, and was really genuinely interested in all the details. Whereas I felt at Imagen, they spent most of the time talking about their creative process and reputation, and didn't ask many questions about our wedding. I'm sure they would have done beautiful work, but I just felt more of a connection with Elise.

So to make a long story short (too late I know), I would at least go to the other appointment. If anything, it will reaffirm your choice to go with Imagen. I know there are several brides on here who used them and were happy with their pictures. :)
  • We are thinking about going with Imagen, too. My FI really likes the artistic look of their work and both of us found Lizzy to be easy to talk to. We're not completely sold on them yet as we're looking into photography WAY early, but the price is so reasonable and we like what we saw. One thing that the PP wrote that I agree with is that Lizzy did spend the majority of the time talking about the company's history and their artisitc vision. Very little was asked about our wedding. Then again, our date is set over a year from now and there's not too much to discuss yet. I would hope that they would get more into our vision and thoughts, which it sounded like they would at my interview with them.
  • I used Imagen and was very happy with our choice.  It is a great deal-and we also got great pictures!  Not a lot was asked about our wedding in terms of style-but we did fill out an information sheet asking what pictures we wanted to make sure we got. (which is standard).  This allowed me to attach pictures in the style that I was going for.  We had Alex shoot our wedding and Lizzy did our rehearsal dinner.  Both did our engagement pictures.  I have a full review as well pictures in my bio.

The only thing that turned me off about Imagen was their incessant reiteration that their fee does NOT include a tip.  I can't even tell you how many times they mentioned this.  I still have not tipped them-but I also did not use their $100 print credit-so I guess that can be their tip??
