I attended the bridal show in York yesterday, and of course we entered all the things to win.  I got a call today saying we won a 3 day, 2 night vacation from Chef World, including the hotel, food, drinks, and activities, and even a 1000 gift card for groceries.  She said we needed to go to a premier of their products tomorrow night for 90 minutes to claim their prize.  Is this a scam?  I am not "lucky" so I never win anything, haha.  Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them?  I am not sure what to do.

    dunno.  My first guess would be to do a google search on these people, see if it's legit.  Usually if it's a scam you'll get a few google hits of people talking about their experiences.  Good luck!

    I have gotten calls from them as well and had the same assumption as you. They have called me twice saying I have won things but I didnt think it was ligit so I never followed through with anything.

    I got the same thing a couple months ago in Harrisburg. They called me constantly after that until I told them to please leave me alone. It sounds like a really cool deal, but I have a feeling there are multiple strings attached. If you had actually "won" they would have just given you the information on how to go about scheduling your trip, without having to sit through a sales pitch first. I was really excited at first too, but then I realized it was just a scamUndecided

    Unfortunately, I think you are all right.  I am pretty sure it's a scam, but FI is convinced that we need to go sit through the presentation.  I told him if he really wants to, it's only 90 minutes of our time, so we could.  I'm sure he'll be disappointed when we get there, but I'll let you all know.

    I did go to the presentation a couple of months ago.  FI and I ended up winning an additional trip because of participation.  They give you all of the information you need to schedule your trips right up front.  We didn't end up purchasing anything, and we still left with 2 trips.  Of course we have not attempted to book either of them yet, so only time will tell!!

    Ours was legit as well.  We got a 3 day 2 night vacation, and it doesn't expire until August 2011 so we are going to use it as our honeymoon.  They give you the opportunity to expand your vacation at a reasonable rate, and we didn't need to buy anything either.  I must say though, that the cookware that he was selling was TREMENDOUS, and if we had an extra grand laying around, we would have definitely entertained the idea of buying it.  If you bought it yesterday, you got another 5 day 4 night Carnival cruise as well.  It was not as bad as I thought it would be, and it was actually sorta fun!

    They contacted me as well, even though I had never heard of them before that point.  I don't know how they got my phone number.  I have read multiple things about it through google, but it seemed shady enough to me that we never followed through.

    We went a few months ago and we won 2 trips. We would have liked to buy the product but it was very expensive. I will say though the guy that presented and the other man (which was his son) scared the crap out of me!  They were not professional at all, the father was the speaker and he cursed at us, and told us that if we did not plan on cooking every night that our marriage was doomed to fail. Oh he also pulled out a typical cooking set that you can get at the department stores and said if you ever cooked for me with this sh*t I would stab (or kill can't remember) you! After all of that I just wanted to leave, but FI wanted to find out if we could order later being that we did not expect to buy anything, and the son became very angry with us and just gave us our trips so we cold leave. Needless to say, I did not have any intention on going on the trips given because I was not chancing anything like what we had to sit through!
