Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Stonebrooke? Could it be the one?

I'm going to look at Stonebrooke Golf Club Wednesday morning. Originally, I thought it was out of my price range because the meals are a little spendier than what I planned for. But they provide chinawear and table linens at no cost and I believe the meals are served (I'll double-check). So that pretty much makes up for the price difference right there. Has anyone gotten married there? Is anyone planning on getting married there? I'd love to chat. Any hidden fees? Pros/cons? Tips, hints, or suggestions. I'm all ears! :)

Blah, I just wrote a lengthy response but I had some kind of error when I went to post... ANNOYING

Anyway, we are having our reception at Stonebrooke and I am so excited about it! Also, a friend of mine sister had her reception there this fall and had nothing but good things to say about it. Their coordinator Deb has been great to work with. She is always very quick to respond to my questions and is very helpful. You are also right, it is a served dinner. One thing I liked about their meals was that we have the choice of 2 entrees, 1 vegetarian entree, and 1 children's meal at no extra cost. One of the places we had looked at charged a few extra bucks a plate for more than one dinner option.

As far as hidden costs, I haven't come upon anything that I wasn't previously aware of, although I also haven't paid the final bill yet either ;). However, although I knew about it, I still wasn't thrilled about the fact that we had to pay for our menu tasting. Althought they give you full meals of each one that you want to try so at least you get your money's worth :) We just had FIs parents come up one night and made it a night out.

Lastly, I see you said you were going to check it out on Wednesday morning. I will be there Wednesday night with my DOC, FMIL and Deb :)

Let me know if you have any other ?s!!

We went an looked at Stonebrooke for our reception but went with Carlson Towers instead. We loved Stonebrooke, it was really pretty, the coordinator sounded like she would bend over backwards for you, and the price was right. The only down fall (which was a deal breaker for us) was that the public bar is right next to the reception area and there aren't walls to block you in for privacy. I didn't like the idea that anyone could be walking by while you reception was going on. It didn't seem private enough to us. But if that is no big deal to you then I would say go with them!

I used to go out there all the time when I was still DJ'ing weddings, and yes, Deb is great! The food is always FANTASTIC as well. They are a tad spendy, but compare it to the quality of the food and service and how much they actually provide, it's well worth it. We may have gone w/them but wanted to be closer to downtown Minneapolis.

I forgot to mention this! This was one of the negative points for us as well but we loved everything else and the location enough to look past it. While we were there for our tasting in January there was a private event going on there as well and they had a temporary wall thing put up infront of the windows that are between the restraunt and reception area. This is a good point you brought up Veijes!
