July 2012 Weddings

Very small, unimportant question...

...but I can't decide on this....

How are you distributing programs? One placed at each seat? Ushers will hand out? Basket near the door where people can grab one themselves?

  • Basket near the door, I think.

  • My cousin will have them in a basket and will be handing them out as people enter, before they reach the ushers.

My friend a few weeks ago had them in a big basket and just had guests grab them. Lots of people missed seeing that basket and didn't get one - I didn't really love that idea.

I like the idea of having them at each seat if your ceremony venue actually has chairs - that just didn't work for us because our church is full of pews that people will be sliding in and out of, and we don't know where exactly people will sit in the pews.
  • One placed at each seat

  • A ten year old family friend will have this as their job.  She will hand them out to guests before they are ushered to a seat.
  • FI's two oldest neices (12 and 8) will be our program and guestbook attendents.

  • I'm having an usher hand them out.
  • They will be in a basket next to the door.
  • One of the GM will be handing them out as people walk into the church... whoever wants one can take one.  I'll probably have them in a small basket and he can grab them as he needs them, as I doubt he'll want to hold the basket haha.

  • I think we will have them in a basket next to our signature frame. We are getting married at the venue, so we thought it would be a good idea to have the signature frame on display when guests walked into the ceremony space. They can sign the frame and then pick up their program if they want :)

This is what I'm thinking of doing as well. I wasn't sure if the basket would be redundant, but I guess it makes sense in case he misses someone, and so he doesn't need to try to hold 200 programs at once, lol.

  • I'm having a usher hand them out.
  • I'm placing one on every other seat. Most of our guests are couples so I figured they will share a program.
  • Our cousins are going to be "Ushers" we're hoping and they're going to pass out programs.  If they don't want to do that we're putting them in a basket.

  • Basket near the door.

  • They will be in a basket on a table near the entrance. I only printed 100 for a guest list of 150 but I figure many guests will share programs within their party.
  • FI's cousin will be handing them out when people walk into the church.

  • Mine will be in a basket by the door. FI's youngest brother (usher) will help hand them out but they'll be available in the basket for those he misses.

  • normally in my area there is a hostess who hands out the programs and she also takes care of the guest book table at the reception.
  • I'm having my day of coordinator ask my brother and cousin, both GMs to hand them out. The won't be able to resist a cute bubbly lady asking them. LOL.

I only made 93 as I know of some people that won't make the ceremony and some people really won't bother with them.
