All-Inclusive August Honeymoon

Hey Everyone,

We are going to go on an all-inclusive honeymoon in August and I was wondering if you have any ideas of where we should stay.  We'd like to stay at an all-adults hotel if possible.  Any tips would be great!!!!!!

    Sandals and Dreams are popular AI resort chains. Any idea on what area or country you want to go to? To get some ideas you could search on expedia.ca or selloffvacations.com or something to get an idea of what's out there, prices, countries, etc.

    We did Sandals in the Bahamas from August 9th-19th last year - it was incredible!

    I would honestly stay away from Sandals and Dreams. You are paying $500-800 more per person, just for the name. There are other companies that are just as reputable and have gorgeous resorts all over the carribean (eg. Riu, Iberostar). My favourite website is tripcentral,
    because it has this great charts where you can compare different resorts, prices, dates etc. You can really book a caribbean vacation yourself online, don't need a travel agent. My two favourite resrots are Riu Ocho Rios (Jamaica). Bahia Akumal (mayan riveriera). In my opinion Jamaica and Mayan Riverira have the best resorts (best beaches, best service, newer resorts etc)

    There is a great sale in September for Sandals/Beaches however, and we ended up paying exactly the same that we would have for any other resort, plus we got a $500 spa gift card to use while we were there, plus a ton of free things that you normally pay for because we were honeymooning!  If you don't take advantage, it is definitely more expensive for these resorts, but it was a far better experience in terms of food, beach, fun, than any other resort I've been to to date!

    I went to Cuba last August and although it was really hot, the ocean and beaches were amazing!

    I second the Mayan Riviera! I took a cab to the Akumal resort to snorkel ;) we stayed at Barcelo Maya Beach (there's also Caribe, Royale and the Palace) and loved every minute! Absolutely no complaints! This was March 2009.

    My FI and I are just starting to look into all-inclusive resorts for August as well. We like Antigua, Aruba and Bahamas. I personally wouldn't stay at Sandals because I wouldn't be able to afford to do many other excursions and my FI and I like to get out, explore and be active.
