What's up?

How's everyone doing?  How was everyone's weekend?

I had a great weekend with H, celebrating his bday.  He seemed to enjoy the weekend, so that's great.  Also, he had three interviews on Friday (was only supposed to have 1, but 2 popped up).  All three look promising, and one is basically definite.  He needs to start talking about pay, etc., to make his decision, but he's definitely seeming quite happy about it.  I have to admit, though, I'm going to miss having a SAHH (stay-at-home husband).  It's been nice not worrying about laundry, cleaning, etc.

How's everyone else doing?

Re: What's up?

  • That's exciting for your H, Resa! I'll continue to pray that things work out, but I know that losing your SAHH will be a big relief for you guys (and, apparently, more chores for you ;) ).

Today is errands and laundry (ooooh yeah! living the dream!). Had a lovely, lazy weekend with H, and C in a great mood.

  • Yay!  Good luck to your H, Resa!

I had a great weekend, although I think I am coming down with a cold or sinus infection.  Some of the medicine I've taken today has made me feel a little loopy, which makes running a lab kind of hard.  =(

How great for your H Resa!  I'm sure you'll both be very happy to have him back at work, even if that means more shared duties around the house.  What line of work will your H be in?

I had a pretty good weekend, FI's brothers visited Sat-Sun, and I went to a get-together yesterday afternoon with some friends, but otherwise just hung out and relaxed.  It was nice not doing much this weekend, since we have something going on almost every weekend now until the wedding.

Sounds like you had a sucessful weekend, Resa! Fiance and I had a really nice weekend.

Saturday we picked our wedding cake. Chocolate cake with Chocolate Mousse and Chocolage Gnash filling. White buttercream frosting. Alternating between sqaure and round tiers, covered in swiss dots and gold ribbon. :)

After the cake, we had a pizza picnic in the park.

Sunday we attended a Latin Mass at a Carmelite Monestary. It was so pretty with the Nuns singing during mass. Afterward we spent the afternoon as my FI's parents house for a party, followed by a visit at our friends.

Monday we just did some errands (Home Depot) there is work being done on his apartment so it's all ready for when I move in. With new paint on the walls and hardwood floors that we picked together, it feels more like "ours" and less like me moving into "his" apartment. :)

  • I used to post around here, and have been trying to get back to you ladies. I hope everyone is doing well. I took a long hiatus and then lurked for a bit and now finally  have posted a little.

H and I had a nice extra long weekend. He went back to work today, but I was off today. Tomorrow is back to the daily grind, though. It has been nice playing catch up and getting some much needed things done. Everyone needs that, right?
  • Hey Missy Sue! It's been a long time! I see you're finally out of GA and back in OH! How is it going?

Our weekend was great. Just so relaxing. Resa, Good luck to your H!

    Thanks so much for asking.

Things are going pretty good. Been a busy past few months. We lived with the in-laws for nearly 14 months and that was very rough. H and I had to figure out what it felt like to live alone again. H finally got a job a few months ago and we are in our own apartment. So we are basically talkiing kids and hopefully getting a house in the next year or two. One kid should be doable in our place as it is right now.

I am also going back to school (for real) in January and I can't wait!
  • MissySue, that's awesome!  I'm glad things are going well for you :)  And thanks, everyone, for your support and prayers in regards to H's job search!

I'm getting really excited -- my parents rented a beach house in the Outer Banks for the end of the month.  They invited H and I to spend a long weekend there (they have the house for 2 weeks), so that'll be super fun!  It's weird, though, because they didn't invite any of my siblings.  They have invited me to the beach with them several times over the years, and once they invited one of my sisters, but they've never invited anyone else.  A couple of my silbings have expressed their annoyance at this. I feel the need to keep it a secret, which is hard when I'm so close with my siblings.  But I don't want them to be mad at me (which happens!), and I also don't want them to feel hurt.

  • Ressa, that vacation sounds awesome! And it will be a reason to celebrate if your H gets a new job :)
  • Missy, welcome back! I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you and your H!

  • RRWB -- we love newbies around here!  This thread probably won't get seen by a lot of people, since it's a little furher down the list, so don't take it personally if not many people respond :)  I hope you'll stick around and post here! The more, the merrier!
