Sunday Chit Chat

Yes, I'm bored.  I have a million productive things to be doing but my desire to do any of those things is essentially ZERO.

Why is blocking hotel rooms such a PITA?  Has anyone else had this experience?  Trying to book at a Holiday Inn Express in near Plano.  Sent a web inquiry and received an e-mail from the lady over Sales and Marketing that was really nice and requested I give them some additional info.  You bet!  So I shot her an e-mail back with the info she asked for and waited...and waited...and today I decided I'd follow-up and just make sure my e-mail didn't get lost in e-mail hell.  She e-mailed me back and let me know I was supposed to have followed up with her via phone for "clarity."  Gosh, I'm sorry... I didn't realize when you said "please contact me with that info" it really meant, "you MUST call me or I will ignore you."  I'm the silliest! *facepalm*

In other news, FI is off work tomorrow.  I am not.  I swear I won't be jealous of this when I get up at 5AM and he's still all curled up in bed. ;-)

Drinking:  you're doing it right. ;-)

But seriously, lots of water and a bit of Gatorade along with some ibuprofen and you should get to feeling better soon.  I haaaaate hangovers.  Don't think I've had one since my days at TTU though, which is kind of lame.

Just finished mixing up a SkinnyTaste meal in my crockpot.  Excited to try out their recipes after seeing stephiehall's FB posts.  Hopefully it turns out yummy.

  • I has mental hangover from FMIL bitching about FI's ex-stepmom who raised him from 2-18 when she (his real mother) ran off and got married to another guy and then another guy and then another guy. 'She is not blood, she should not be invited to my son's wedding.'

    Sorry. Vent over.

  • I'm just lucky that my parents are still married (his parents have 10 marriages and 9 kids between the both of them), and I'm not sure how to deal with broken families. I guess I have to learn. :-/
  • Wow, Carrie!  I'm sorry you have to deal with that!

@Amy, H and I definitely had a long talk about our bad behavior.  I am too old for that shiz.

  • Luckily I called FI's sister (who is just beyond amazing) and she talked me off the ledge. For having suck kooky parents he really could not have better siblings.

Wow, usually if that's what I mean I go ahead and call myself to my prospective client. She must not be that concerned about bringing in business

TBH, I hate talking on the phone so I would probably cross this hotel off the list.  Does she still expect you to call her or did she give you the information you were looking for?

Oh she definitely expects me to call as she gave me no information back in her e-mail today -- just the fact that she needed me to call to "clarify" things.  I e-mailed her back and I said I was sorry, I didn't realize she needed me to call.

     (1) If you need someone to call you, tell them that.  (2) If you must speak via the phone and your prospective customer sends you an e-mail, you should politely respond back to them when you receive said e-mail instead of discarding it.  I told her I work 12-hour shifts not including commuting and that I'm also a student so it was very difficult for me to reach anyone during their normal business hours.  I asked her if she would be working this coming weekend as I'd just LOVE to stop by and take care of this in person.

No response.  Hotel is definitely crossed off the list!  Sad to say that was the #1 rated hotel on TripAdvisor for the Plano/Allen area.

In other news, our dinner recipe from SkinnyTaste was pretty good and simple to boot.
