Hair & Makeup

I was wondering what everyone else has paid or will be paying for their hair and makeup the day of their wedding.  I have gotten some pricing which I thought was pretty reasonable but my bridal party is saying its on the high side.  I want to have them come to our hotel the day of to get ready.  Thanks!!

For makeup the girls are paying $55 (airbrush) and hair is $80 and up. Makeup and hair is also traveling to us at the hotel we will be at. I paid travel fees, and my girls have the option to get  both, one or the other or none at all :)

  • My girls paid $80 for hair and $70 for makeup. I covered the travel fee of $55 and the tip. Some girls that used extensions were charged $15 more for hair and fake eyelashes were $10 more.

  • Thanks...that seems to be the average for hair and makeup.  Those are the same prices I have been getting from places for them to travel to us.  I live the idea of not having to leave the room and we can all just relax the morning off.

  • Remember that you're spending thousands of dollars on the whole wedding, so $80 isn't a big deal to you. But your bridal party isn't spending that type of money, and isn't planning the wedding themselves- so $80 seems like a huge amount in their eyes.

I offered to let my bridal party do their own hair and makeup. The girls decided that they wanted their hair professionally done, but would do their own makeup. They all looked fabulous the day of the wedding! We also went with a local salon for our hair, instead of one of the big names on this board, because that helped us keep prices lower.
  • We're using Dana Bartone...they're traveling to the hotel ($85 travel fee), and it's $80 for hair and $75 for makeup.   It's definitely steep, but if you're just giving girls the option, then they can certainly opt out if they think it's too pricey.  If you're requiring them to have hair and make-up professionally done, then you really need to be the one covering the full cost.  Unfortunately this pricing seems to be the norm for most of the more popular salons.

<div>Hi Christine</div><div>I was wondering if you are using one company for hair and makeup? I've been doing a fair amount of research in hopes to keep cost down for myself and the girls. I think $55 for airbrushing is a good rate and was curious who you're using?? </div><div>Thanks,</div><div>Marissa </div>
