Review of my menu tasting AND trying on my dress!

Last night we had our menu tasting at Saybrook Point Inn which was amazing! But before we did that, I stopped at the bridal shop (down the street from Saybrook Point) to try on my dress for the first time since I ordered it last summer. I was SO pumped because it  really fit like a glove (except it needs to be hemmed, since I am short). I was concerned that I would need a lot of alterations on the bodice but I was pleasantly surprised...I fell in love with the dress all over again :) I included a pic below...it's not the best pic because my mom is horrible at taking pictures with the iphone! And you can't see the lacey detail on the bodice, but I figured I would share anyways...

Now on to the tasting review. First of all, I am STILL full because they feed you SO much! Everything was delicious.  It was not like "banquet food" at all. Even the table wine was very good, and usually I think that table wine at weddings is mediocre at best (maybe I am a wine snob!) The service was great too. FI and I felt a great sense of relief on the ride home. The food is one of the most important parts of the wedding for us, and it feels so good to know that the food will be great, no matter what we choose for our menu. They were also very accomodating with substitutions/combinations. We asked them if they could substitute some of the side dishes from one meal, to another....they said they can really do any type of substitutions that we want (within reason). They also let you combine some of the meals into one choice (for example, steak and stuffed shrimp) for no additional charge. For anyone who is looking for a venue with exceptional food, I definitely recommend Saybrook Point
