Gift exchange the day of the wedding

Hi girls,

Are you all planning on giving a gift to your groom the day of the wedding?

I think it's a nice idea but don't know what to give. I was thinking about a really nice watch but he just bought one for himself a few months ago.

I gave him silver cufflings for his bday so i can't do that either.

any ideas?

We didn't do gifts for each other, but I wish I had done B-pics now - perhaps this summer for our one year...?

I'm getting in a Logitech G27 racing wheel and he is going to crap his pants, lol.  Hopefully he will open it before he gets into his tux ;p

It's not a keepsake type of item but everytime he uses it he will think of me ;)

    Thanks girls...

I will have a love note with the gift, but i wanted something timeless. Something that he could always have and remember that he got it from me on our wedding day. And maybe pass to our kids when they get married. haha

    LIttlin - wha's a B-pic?

oh nice, logitech haha :)) i'm sure he will love it!

Yeah, other than a watch or cufflinks I can't think of anything else that would get passed down to your kids.

But he would definitely "have and remember" boudoir pics (B-pics)!

We also exchanged letters on the day of - it was really sweet and I also cried (but held it in because I read it AFTER I had done my makeup and before the ceremony) and b-pic = boudoir pic.  Maybe not something he could put on his desk at work framed, but he'd probably WANT to!

We aren't doing any formal gifts. I really can't stand the idea of a "dowry" even though these days that is NOT what people are thinking. I just won't be able to think of it any other way myself. So we are going to write each other a little note. Our honeymoon is a pretty big gift now that I think about it!

I got my FI a pocket watch and I 'm going to have it engraved.

We decided against it.  Decided we were spending enough money already.  I offered to buy him some of our silverware, haha.  (I started buying it on eBay and he keeps making fun of me for buying my own registry... there's just some deals that are too hard to pass up, like 95% off!)
Watch was his engagement gift (he picked it out, I paid).
Cufflinks are the groomsmen gift, so he got those as well.

Sorry to not be more help.

    Flask?  Expensive scotch?

I am thinking of doing this. What are the "normal" type of gifts to give?

    A watch, definitely.
