bridesmaid dresses

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to find inexpensive bridesmaid dresses? I don't want to use david's bridal because the last time I was a bridesmaid and had to get my dress there they were kind of rude to me. I'd rather not send any business their way if I can help it! Anyway, I'm trying to keep the cost of the dress under 100 dollars so my 'maids aren't having to spend too much, and to complicate things 2 of my bridesmaids are local, and 2 of them are from Connecticut. Does anybody know of a good place to look online for dresses or a good store that has nationwide locations? I don't really care if the dresses are intended for bridesmaids or not (in fact since I'm not a fan of shiny material or ruffles it might be better if it isn't!) I just want to be able to find something inexpensive that will be easy for my bridesmaids to buy.

Re: bridesmaid dresses

  • My girls are wearing dresses from Banana Republic. If you sign up for their mailing list they have 30-40% off specials almost weekly. I found the dress and then waited for one of their sales and sent my girls the info to order. Plus I KNOW they can wear them again.
  • Banana Republic, J Crew, Loft, and Limited all have really cute dresses that they market as bridesmaid dresses.  Depending on your color scheme, you could just tell your girls to buy a dress in your color of their choosing.  I've even seen mismatched bridesmaid dresses and find that to be really cute!

Locally, I was in a wedding and we ordered all the BM dresses (Watters Too designs) from Mockingbird Bridal.  One of the maids was OOT so the bride just got her size and ordered it for her.  Apparently she got a discount by buying them all on one ticket.

  • My maids are wearing an Alfred Angelo dress (style #7172) that I found that looks good on ALL body types. Since I am handling the order (they're still paying) and going through the salon that I bought my wedding dress from, I get 10% off the entire order.
  • thanks guys, you've given me some options to think about!
  • I agree with CWaggoner, I even have a BM dress from Banana Republic (and love it because I can wear it for multiple occassions).

My BMs got their dresses from BCBGeneration.
Asos.com might also be worth checking out. Free shipping/free returns.
