Just wanted to pass along my vendor reviews. The reviews I got here helped me out a lot so I'm going to try and do the same!!
First Congregational Church - A-
The church is beautiful!! Rev. Wilson did an amazing job!! We had so many compliments on how great the ceremony. It was personal and it Rev. Wilson really took the time to get to know my husband(!!!) and I. They were a little hard to go get them to respond to you, but they always did. Our DOC provided by the church (mandatory, and assigned by the church) was AWFUL!!! She was rude to me and my family, and it was unacceptable. She was nice and polite until our officiant was gone for the night (both for the rehearsal and the actual wedding) and after that she was a DOC-zilla!!!! It was a horrible experience and I plan on letting the church know how unhappy we were. That was the ONLY reason we didn't give them an A+
Capital Club - A
Diana is so great to work with! She is super quick to respond to your emails and is so friendly!! The set up was awesome and they were able to completely customize the place to anything I wanted it - food, alcohol, table linens, EVERYTHING!! We left a room key with Diana and she took all our cards and gifts to my parents hotel (the doubletree connected to the building) so they we did not have to gather them at the end of the night. The only problem we ran into was this morning when we went back to gather our vases and some other things we left behind and we couldn't get in. We tried to call Diana but she was unreachable. We'll go back Monday morning and then everything will be good!
Gibson Photographis - A+++++++
Christy Gibson is AMAZING!! I could spend hours and hours telling people how amazing she is. She responded to ALL my emails with lightning speeds and took so much time to get to know me and my husband. She worked hard to give me what I wanted out of my wedding photos and she is truly an amazing person. Her prices are great and I can't wait to see our wedding photos. Our engagement photos were exceptional and my boudoir photos looked unbelievable!! Christy was BY FAR the BEST of all my wedding day vendors and I truly feel like we will stay friend for a long time. She is the best!! She also had an assistant (who's card I misplaced and really need to find again), Stephanie, who was equally as excellent. We only spent the wedding day working with her but she had great ideas and the kind of personality you want in a photographer. You could tell she really had an eye for what she does. Long review short - if you don't use Gibson Photographics YOU'RE A FOOL!!!!!!!!!!
Flowerman - A-
Not a lot to say about these guys. I had a great experience with them but I was a little worried after reading some other reviews. We had so many compliments on our flowers that I couldn't imagine having anything else, but they were SO had to communicate with. It took a long time for emails and phone calls to be returned and multiple calls made in a day to get someone to answer the phone at all. Great place, lots of fun, really frustrating when it comes to the administrative stuff.
Matt Ryan DJ - B
My husband would be really mad at me if he knew I was giving these guys a B but I can't help it. my husband used to DJ weddings so he knew exactly what he wanted so he took care of the DJ. In the beginning they were attentive and helpful and also quick to take our money and then kind of fell into the background - no problem there really, didn't have anything I needed from them anyway. We were told they would contact us again about a month before the wedding to go over the details and that call never came. Finally after countless emails asking for some help with only mediocre responses our DJ contacted us. I had told him MANY times not to contact me, contact my husband. He NEVER did. He only contacted me - and what's worse he would only use TEXTING!!! I couldn't believe it. We had a hard time with there music selection as well but after some persuading, they agreed to use my husbands laptop so we had all the music we could have wanted for the night and so much more. The guests had a blast dancing the night away and everything went well, just like my husband said it would.... (I really was worried about this one).
Sauer Cakes - A
Not too much to say on this one. Cake was perfect. Great prices, amazing flavor, husband LOVED the cake and so did all the guests. Everyone wanted more!!! She was slow to respond to but was overall easy to work with. It was also nice that she had a great variety of cake stands that were free of charge to use.
