i dont garden. but i would like to. my FFIL gardens.... has ALOT. Tomatoes, lettuce, green beans, uh...idk what else. it kinda grosses me out cuz he has a compost pile in the kitchen to gather up all the unused fruits and veggies, eggs, and coffee grinds.... i will not do this. haha

We have a compost pile too!! It's really nutritous for the garden. We have a compost bucket in the kitchen, but we take it out to the compost bin outside. I have to admit it's really gross at times, but we have less trash to worry about.

I'm super impatient when it comes to the garden. I like to go out every morning to "see what it's done" AKA usually NOTHING

My parents have an awesome garden.  I did not get those genes.  I kill everything.  I killed 5 plants in the first 4 months we were married.  Yeah, I'm that bad.  I am no longer allowed to plant flowers or anything in our yard :-(

I thought I wanted to do a garden a few years ago. I  attempted to grow strawberries, corn, bell peppers, zucchinni, lettuce, sun flowers, and onions.  The zucchinni worked out pretty well. The lettuce never did anything. The bell peppers didn't do anything. The corn was itty bitty (like 2 inches long) and never got bigger. The sunflowers were beutiful. The onions sort of grew... and the strawberries... oh my, the strawberries have taken over everything. They keep coming back. They're so good though.

I LOVE strawberries!! My mom wouldn't let us plant strawberries because they were going to take over the garden. (lol like yours did) This was a bad summer for strawberries in Indiana so I never got any :(

My veggie garden goes nuts in the summer (I think because it gets a ton of son), but I'm not so good with the weeding/maintaining of the flower gardens.

I'm growing: green zucchini. yellow zucchini, 2 kinds of cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, fennel, carrots, basil, parsley, chives, oregano.

I have some strawberries growing in my front lawn though!

We're in an apartment so I don't have a garden but I have loads of potted plants. It's hard because we don't get tons of direct sunlight but lots of indirect sunlight so I have to find the right plants. In the kitchen I have basil (which I overwatered and is still recovering...), african violet, lemon thyme, and some plant my friend gave me that is so hardy. I have no idea what it is called!! It grows like a weed, I think it is some kind of a succulent.

I have astilbe on my porch along with creeping jenny. So pretty! I can't wait to have vegetables in a garden.

I can't garden.  I even managed to kill a cactus!  If we're ever going to have a garden, DH is going to have to be in charge of it.  We'd love to have an herb garden someday, and I think DH wants tomato plants.

Funny story.  Growing up, half my parents' garden was strawberries, but the birds kept eating them.  My parents put fake snakes out to scare the birds away.  My mom completely forgot about them one day and was terrified when she was out picking strawberries and there was a snake!  Of course it was one of the fake ones.

Ha ha Jenn - that's pretty funny!

I wanted to do a raised bed garden this year but I decided I should wait until our sunroom is built.  We hope to have it this fall so I'll be able to garden next year.  I also want to do a compost but need to figure out how to do it because of how our lot is set up.

I will do tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and maybe zucchini.  For now, I am buying these things at the local farmer's market.
