August 2012 Weddings

Slip question

A friend gave me a slip for under my dress to borrow. It fits, but is a bit snug. Since we are getting married in August and with the crazy weather we are having it may be a hot one, I was planning only to wear it for the church service. Is it okay that it is snug or will I hve to get another slip?

Re: Slip question

  • Do you really need one?  I don't plan on wearing anything special underneath my dress.  Are you comfortable in the slip?  I am wondering why you would wear it to the ceremony and not the reception?
  • I was just thinking it would be "puffer" for the cereomy but too hot to wear the entire reception. I may end up not wearing it at all. Thanks!
  • is it a normal slip or is it more like a crinoline?

This.  I opted not to wear a slip or petticoat.  I don't generally wear those things with a dress, and it is going to be hot out (even though I am getting married indoors).

  • Mine's snug and I'm still wearing it. But that's because it keeps my dress poofed out - it would be too flat without the slip. It's gonna be hot but oh well! Luckily I don't sweat too much.
