Plastic china?

My caterer mentioned plastic china that looked real.  Has anyone heard of this or where to get it?

Re: Plastic china?

  • Ask your caterer.

I'm finding for rentals that caterers offer about the same prices I could get directly from the rental companies. No doubt the caterer makes a profit, because the caterer can negotiate lower prices with the rental companies. The situation is about similar with wine. [Requesting an unusual vintage helps; you simply can't get the kind of wine my fiance wants for $3/bottle.] Their prices are about the same what we'd pay retail, but they're buying wholesale.

So, ask your caterer. He'll either tell you where to find this stuff, or offer to get it for you.
  • They have it at Costco.  It does look real, but when you pick it up it is obviously plastic.  I wouldn't use it if you want an elegant feel.

  • I was going to recommend Costco too.

  • amazon.com has it too. I couldn't find any on Costco's website (I'm 3 hours from anywhere).
