::Waves::  Thansk for saying hello in the other thread!

How is Pediatric Cardiology going?   Are you having fun loving up the babies?

DD is doing a good job holding her head up from prone position, but on her back she still has A LOT of head lag.  Still waiting for the Infants and Toddlers program to assign us our PT.  Yesterday was 2 weeks, and they technically have 30 days to contact me, so hopefully the call will come soon.

We had out 4 month well baby and she is 17 pounds and  26" long! That is the 95th percentile for height.   They don't want her to start solids until her Adjusted Gestational Age is 4 months or maybe later, so OT is on hold for now.   It's just as well because she still has her startle and extrusion reflexes.  And obviously with her weight she is eating just fine!

(Sorry for the TK message, I am at work so FB is blocked.)

XOXO

I love TK messages - it makes me remember the good ol' days when this board would fill up with new posts daily and sometimes go onto page 2 (sigh).

Peds cardiology is going well.  I love seeing well kids that are referred from their primary doctors for new murmurs - 80% of kids will have an abnormal sound at some point between age 2 and 6 when their doc listens to their heart.  It's the sound of blood flowing, like how you can hear water flowing in pipes in an old house.  Sometimes, this sound means that something is wrong, but most of the time it is 100% normal.  It's great to say, "Your baby is perfectly healthy, have a fantastic day!"

The flip side is that when something IS wrong with babies' hearts, the effects can be devastating.  I have lost a patient already this month.  The survivors often have multiple surgeries and are followed in clinic for years and years.  There are fantastic success stories, but also really sad cases.

I am learning a lot and also getting all of my residency application materials in order.  It's a super busy time and I'm kind of exhausted, but loving everything at the same time.

So glad DD growing well.  17 pounds!  You would never know she was a premie.  What a little fighter.  You must be such a proud mama!

I know, I can't believe how dead this board became after a lot of the regulars moved over to the nest.

Let me know if you want to get together during your break!  (It gives the term 2 week window a whole 'nother meaning, right?  LOL.)

I haven't been around in a LONG time, so excuse me if you ahve already tried this...but have you guys tried an introduction thread to try and get things moving?

@ Blondie- just because you aren't married yet, doesn't mean you can't venture over to the nest.  It is WAY more active over there!
