Engagement Party Favors???

Any suggestions for favors for our engagement party? I was going to do personalized stemless wine glasses but the reviews on this site on other sites that sell them have a lot of negative comments stating that the writing comes off after a few washes, even with hand washing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Re: Engagement Party Favors???

  • Favors aren't necessary at all, and generally items like wine glasses, coasters, mini picture fames, etc won't get used again and will sit on a shelf until they are thrown away.   Before my most recent move I got rid of probably a half dozen personalized/etched wine glasses that I'd received at weddings, office christmas parties, etc.  I think the best kind of favor is edible or at least consumable (can be used up, like a book of matches, cookies or candy, coffee or tea, etc).

At any rate, I would think the host would be taking care of favors, and you shouldn't have to worry about it.

  • There were two different favors at our engagement party - a beautiful murano glass wine bottle stopper and a bottle opener in the shape of a skeleton key. Everyone loved them.

  • we didnt do favors. our engagement party was basically a cocktail hour at my grandma's house.

i think if you really wanted to do something, a photo of you two, or something edible would be well received.

  • We had two favors at our engagement party.  One was a tifanny blue favor box from party city tied with a white ribbon. My mother found a black, white and tiffany round favor label on Zazzle and personalized it with our names, save the date and our actual wedding date and filled it with chocolate kisses (6 per box sitting on a little piece ot tulle to minimize rattling) and the other favor was an wine bottle stopper that had an engagement ring top. http://www.wrapwithus.com/search.aspx?keyword=1941-fc These were the least expensive.  We had maybe 3 or 4 left over chocolate boxes (we had one one each plate) and none of the wine stoppers left (we did one every other seat)
