Too early for a shower?

Okay ladies, I have a question. My MOH is planning my shower and was told that I needed to get her a guest list and registry info to her ASAP as the shower will be held in July of this year. I was shocked by this, since I am not getting married until NEXT June! I politely explained that to her and her response was "Well, I want to get it over with". I really didnt think that this is something that my MOH would want to "get out of the way" and have total disregard for weather or not it was too early. What do you guys think? Is it too early or am I just being demanding?

    That is incredibly early...too early, really. If I were you, I would politely decline her offer of a shower.

    It sounds way too early. It's nice of her to offer to throw you one, since technically no one HAS to, but you living situation might change or other things might change in the space of a year. She should wait.

    Definitely too early.

    Tell her thank you for the offer, but you guys just don't feel comfortable registering this early.  If you want, you can also tell her that you know your guests won't want to come to a shower that early, so you'll have to decline.

    Thanks Ladies!! I talked with her a little more last night and I think she is seeing that it is too  early and said that she will have it way closer to the wedding date now. :D
