the reveal

I'm not sure which board is most appropriate for this topic, but hopefully someone can help! My DF and I are going to do a reveal before the ceremony, but I'm not sure exactly how to plan it - I'll be getting ready with the girls and him with the guys, so do we both travel separately to a third location to do the reveal alone or do we all (the entire bridal party and potentially parents) come with us and we do the reveal at a third location with them (or maybe still alone, but with them waiting someone) or do we have him come to me and do the reveal where I'm getting ready?

Anyone who has done this, can you let me know how you did it and what you would change? TIA

Re: the reveal

  • I got ready with the girls in one room of the hotel, he got ready with the guys in another.  While the rest of the attendants were finishing up, we met at a staircase down on the main floor to do the reveal.  Then we met up with the attendants at the agreed-upon time in the parking lot to start the photo tour.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • We both got ready in different rooms in the hotel, then took separate limos (we needed 2 anyway) to the place where we were taking our photos. Our bridal party came with us. The photographer found a spot for DH to stand with his back to me, then I got out of the limo and walked towards him. I loved it and wouldn't change anything about it.

Like pp's I got ready with the girls and he got ready with the guys, and when we were both ready the photographer brought him outside to a garden area at our venue and had him stand with his back towards where I'd be coming from. I walked up behind him, and he turned around and started crying when he saw me. I honestly believe that the private reveal is much more special and romantic than coming down the aisle with tons of people watching. We hugged, we kissed, we cried, it was amazing and I wouldn't change it for anything.
  • your photographer will probably have ideas too... that's what my photographer is doing, so I don't know exactly what's going to happen yet.
Anniversary DS was born 11/30/12... so in love :)
