Recently, FI and I were talking about flowers and FI said "Flowers remind me of funeral homes."

Ok. Great. I was wondering if any of you had any fun alternatives to flowers for boutonnieres and/or bouquets, especially ideas you have seen in person that worked well. I have seen ideas like branches and berries and even feathers, but I'm not sure about those.

Thoughts? TIA!

PS - It's a winter wedding. Emerald color scheme.

    the only floral arrangements that make me think of funeral homes are bad ones.....

    on that note

    you could do fabric flowers, broaches, feathers/peacock feathers, pins for bouts

    clutches, feather bouquets, a candle, gem bouquets (on etsy) for bouquets

    I really like the idea of brooch boquets or you could always make paper flowers if you wanted to.  But I think if you get bright beautiful flowers, it wont be anything like a funeral.

    My FSIL had her bridesmaids carry white muffs instead of bouquets which I thought was really cute and fit for a winter wedding.
