Small wedding/reception venue

Hi All, I'm from out of state but getting married somewhere in Ohio - it just has to be driving distance from Akron.

It will be in March, there are only 9 guests, and I'd like the ceremony indoors, in front of a fireplace. Also would like to have the ceremony, reception, meals and accomodations all in one place. I've looked through nearly every B&B, winery, lodge, etc in the state and can't seem to figure out what's best. I'm planning a visit in October, so please make suggestions on what you think may work.

Thanks!

Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark, east of Cbus, is really pretty! They have a really pretty fireplace that you can get married in front of. They also have a gorgeous outside botanical garden.

you could also try german village guest haus in columbus. it's probably about the perfect size and their main living room and the gardens outside are lovely.

I'm from Loudonville, Mohican, and I can think of a TON of places! It's about half way between Columbus and Akron. My first thought is Malabar Farm at the Pugh Cabin. That's where my mom and step dad got married in October of 2000 and it was BEAUTIFUL! There is a fireplace at the cabin and my mom and step dad had a fire going for there ceremony, as a matter of fact. It was so amazing. The main house at Malabar Farm is actually where Humphry Bogart and Lauren Bacall were married, so it's a pretty big tourist attraction. Plus, it's just a beautiful area in the fall. If you need any info, let me know and I'd be more than happy to help you out :)

When you say driving distance from Akron - what do you consider driving distance? 20 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, 2 hours?  It is about 2 hours from Akron to Columbus.   Mansfield is about an hour from Akron and then from Rt 30 and Rt 71 it would probably be anther 15-20 minutes to Kingwood.  You might also check in to Malabar Farm and the lodge at Mohican State Park, if you're interested in the Mansfield area.
