Labor Day Weekend
Im getting married on Saturday, August 31st, 2013. I dont know why it didnt dawn on me before, but that is Labor Day weekend!! Are any other brides having their wedding on the same weekend? Having any problems with guests already having plans or anything? I will be sending out my STDs next weekend (waiting for them to come from VP), is that going to be enough time for everyone? So far, nobody has really said anything about that weekend. But, nobody really knows the date yet (family does, close friends do, but without the STDs being sent out, nobody else really does). Any advice or support from anybody that is dealing with this?!

Not at all. We have 3 out of towners, and we really dont even think they will show up. But, since they are family, we are sending an invite anyway. When are you planning on sending your save the dates?
We got engaged New Year's Day this year...so short engagement period. We called our family out of state to let them know about the date asap. Since we do have such a short engagement, we are probably going to do electronic save the dates, if any. Thanks to Facebook and the internet, everyone bascially knows the date anyways and we haven't had a single complaint about it being on Labor Day weekend!

I think mine will go out in early feb, I had some already but we changed our theme, so now Im in the market for new ones lol. We have about 3 out of towners too.

Another Aug 31st bride here. We sent our Save the dates out in Nov. and also spread the word early of the date. We have not had any negative feedback about it being Labor day weekend. If anything people are happy about it because it gives them an extra day to travel.
How far with planning are you Aug. 31 ladies?

I would love to see the crystal bouquets. That sounds like my type of bouquet. I am trying to diet as well. When I bought my dress in April 2012, it didnt fit (too small) but I bought it anyway. I tried it on again a few weeks ago & it fit perfectly so I guess now its just a matter of maintaining my weight. I would really love to start working on my arms a little so they dont giggle around all day Lmao.

Cleveland is so close! I was born in Mayfield Heights hospital in Clev. & I still eat things I shouldnt...I just dont eat as much anymore. Learned to cut down my portions alot. And I gave up pop. Its so hard! I still have the occasional mtn dew tho (diet of course). I wouldnt recommend getting a smaller dress. Mine was only 1 size too small, but since I had 16 months, I knew I would be able to do it. However, if I were just now buying my dress, I prob wouldnt have bought it smaller bc its way to close!
