Stealing Nukkes idea

I decided I would have a book for the bridesmaids in each of their totes too. Soooo does anyone have any ideas of older books that are not so popular or most likely not read yet by my girls. I have four bms. One is a hopeless romantic that loved twilight and sparks books. One who just likes any good pull you in book. Another who reads wierd books like about massage or zodiac stuff. She also loves to read to her kids so many a childrens classic will be good. And lastly one who doesnt really have a book style. I tried to snoop through her books and this is what I came up with the newest michael jackson book, twilight, nancy drew as a kid, harry potter books, and a few murder mysteries. Thanks!!!

    Hopeless romantic--
         classic--something by Jane Austen maybe?
contemporary--I just started reading the time traveler's wife and it's touching.

Weird book lady-- (it seems to me she likes fantasy fiction?)
classic--maybe the Narnian chronicles or Andersen's fairytales?  You can usually find beautifully illustrated versions of the latter on ebay.  Or a big book of classic horror stories.
contemporary--I read a book of fiction when I was younger that was lent to me by a hippy chick.  It was about a female doctor who accidentally went back in time somehow and was forced to learn mediaeval health practices in order to heal the sick (herbs and whatnot).  It was really well written and, although it sounds hokey, it was a good read.  I'll find the name for you.  My mom bought it for me for Christmas this year not realised I'd read it more than a decade ago already.  So I'll email her.  The author just slipped my mind.  Hmmm.
