Ceremony Music

How are you all playing your ceremony music? Is it going to be live or are you using a speaker of some sort?

Also, is the song you are using when you walk down the aisle going to be just instrumental or are you going to the song played just as is?

Re: Ceremony Music

  • I've been debating between just having the DJ play a few songs, or having my best friend's brother who is an accomplished flute player play for us.

  • I picked the song but have yet to figure out how its going to be played because I have no location yet to be married in which is next on my list to tackle after we nail down the venue.

  • We've hired a string trio to play during our ceremony and before/after for a little bit. I think it's going to be beautiful! I'm not sure what song we're choosing, but we have a list of classical pieces the trio can play. I want something upbeat though, and defnitely not the normal bridal chorus. =)
  • We're having a piano player and vocalist.  The song I'm considering for the bridal entrance is Inseparable.  This is how I'm planning on structuring it:
1st verse- played and sung before I walk down the isle
2nd verse- played, no vocals as I walk down the isle
End the song and have the ceremony
Bridge through end of song- sung and played as the recessional

  • Didn't think about this... hmm... I guess as of now we will have our dj play our songs unless I can find musicians that wont break the budget...

  • I don't think I know the song. Do you have a link?

The song I want to walk down the aisle to is "Turning Page" by Sleeping at last:

But I'm not sure how to use it.. vocals... no vocals... idk. FI doesn't want the vocals to be there but I think they are so beautiful they have to be there somewhere. So you gave me a great idea!

  • Not sure yet what music we want for the ceremony...we might have a friend of my FI's (a musician) play the piano and sing...still haven't figured it all out yet!

  • I really like the lyrics to that song.  Musicians can do whatever you want as long as you are specific enough.
