Hi, Elle!  I can't figure out for the life of me how to PM you so posting here.  Hope you don't mind :)

I saw a post of yours about your mossanite engagement ring.  Did you happen to get it in Houston?  Do you mind sharing where you got it and any pictures?  I REALLY want one but I'm kind of scared to order one online.

Feel free to PM me.  I can reply but can't figure how to make a new one even though I'm sure I've done it before lol

Hi!  I'm sorry for the late reply; it's been a crazy weekend and I haven't been around.

I didn't get my ring in Houston, actually.  We got the stone from Moissaniteco.com.  They offer enhanced stones that have better color, but you have to chat online with a staff member to get the purchase link.  It's a little more expensive, but I highly recommend it if you want a large-ish stone.  They also have a 15 day return policy for loose stones, so we wanted to make sure we saw the loose stone first and liked it before we set it into anything.

Once we received the stone and knew that we liked it, we ordered the ring custom-made from a jeweler that another knottie recommended.  It's called Joseph Schubach and they're located in Arizona.  Their customer service was great.

Definitely let me know if you have any more questions.  I'm happy to offer up my experience if I can.

This is the ring.  It was taken on a cloudy day (you can tell because the sapphires look kind of dull), but look how much the moissanite sparkles anyway!

Thanks SO much!!  I just ordered it from Moissanite Co too but got a full ring instead of just the stone.  Paid the extra money for enhanced too.  I'm way too excited to get my ring -- I can hardly wait!  I'll be sure to post a picture once I get it :)

    Thanks again!

I think you'll be happy with it!  I can't wait to see it.  Do you have a link to the one you picked?

Sure!  I wanted something simple, with a square center stone and side accents but nothing too elaborate.  http://www.moissaniteco.com/square-moissanite-engagement-ring-p-9159.html

For anyone else that might read this thread, their customer service is GREAT!  Chris responded to me within an hour on a Saturday, answered all my questions (trust me I had a lot) and he offered guidance on what ring to get.  I had even chosen the wrong metal type and didn't realize it until the day after.  I e-mailed them and they changed it to what I wanted within two hours.  Their responsiveness is better than stores that have a phone number to reach them and some brick&mortar stores I've been to.  If we love the ring (and I have no doubt that we will), we're definitely getting hubby's band from there too!

Gorgeous!  What size center are you getting?  Mine is kind of huge -- one of the perks of going with moissanite instead of diamond.

I was really happy with their customer service, too.

I went back and forth about 1.7 or 2.2 but settled on 1.7.  It's so hard to judge without seeing it in person but I hope it's the perfect size.

BTW I think we're wedding date twins!  YAY for 6.9.12!

<div>YAY indeed!  Of course, I've got to get off my butt and start planning if I'm going to make that happen.  So far I've booked my venue...  and that's it.</div><div>
</div><div>What have you crossed off your list so far?</div>

Not a darn thing lol  I don't actually live in Houston so planning long distance has been a terror.  Once we get over the venue hump I think we'll start getting more things done :)

I don't either!  Well, not anymore.  I lived there until last week, but now I'm in Mississippi.  FI is in med school here.  It's a big change.

Why are you getting married in Houston?  Family there?

Med school?  That's so great! I have a friend in med school in Virginia and she loves it.  At the very least the weather is much better than Houston ;)

I'm actually from Houston -- born and raised -- and FH is still there.
