brownies instead of cake

so, my FI and I hate cake, and can't bring ourselves to pay money for something neither of us will enjoy at our wedding... but, we both LOVE brownies, so we're planning to do that instead.

I still want to have a "cutting the cake" moment, and was thinking of having an "uncut" brownie tray that we could cut, then have a couple platters of pre-cut brownies ready to serve around it... would that be ridiculous?

I think you should do that if it's what you both want! My fiance is going to have an oreo cake (just stacked oreos in the shape of a cake). I also know a friend that had stacked donuts. Do what you want!

I think that sounds good.  If you still want the wedding cake look, maybe you could have a brownie tower (on a stand) with a round, uncut brownie at the top to cut.  No reason you couldn't decorate it a bit, too.

How about a cake shaped brownie?

I don't think brownies are a ridiculous idea at all. You should go with it if you like. Maybe it would be fun to look at way to dress it up in a creative way. Just for fun's sake!
