DJ... MIA (Vent)

Alright so I hired my DJ because I went to college with him and he's good.  Also because over the years we became friends.  

Well I gave him my $125.00 deposit back in January or February, all things were good.  FI and I met with him a few weeks ago to go over music and etc.  He tells us that he will have a few songs on a CD the next week and we can meet to listen to some selections.  I'm like cool....

That was 2 weeks ago, called his phone (it's been discounted), sent an email..no response and hit his wife up on Facebook... No response.  I'm ready to go smooth off.  Mind you my wedding is in September.

What should I do at this point?

    Was there any kind of contract wrote up? I don't really know. I wanna tell you to start looking for another dj and call up judge judy. get your money back!

    Do you have a contract with him? If not, when you do find him... get it solid. Friend or whatever, all vendors need a contract... Our DJ is a friend too, and in the beginning, I was in KNOTS over his non-responses, but he has come through since then.
